Lord Field Update
« on: July 04, 2012, 08:55:51 AM »
Just bowled a tournament at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend of June 28-July1. Bowled well on first night at the South Point bowled late Thursday night mixed doubles and fired a 729 using my pin-up Exodus Pearl and Exodus Solid(for a few frames) and made about $80 in Brackets. Had a family emergency shortly thereafter as we were leaving the center as my sister took a fall down some stairs there just after midnight. We had to take her to the emergency room in Vegas and spent the remainder of the evening/late morning at the hospital.  All was well with her after several x-rays and a CT scan,  we got back to our hotel at 6:00am Friday morning.

Unfortunately I had to bowl at 11:00am that morning and tried to get a couple hours sleep before bowling again at 11:00am! I didn’t have enough energy to bowl as well as I knew I could. Fired a 617 in Singles and mustered a 623 in doubles using my Rico-Drilled Exodus Pearl. Got about a 45 minute breather and had to bowl mixed doubles again at 3:00pm, still didn’t have enough in the tank to put together a good series and struggled to a 632. Even though I didn’t have my best stuff, my doubles partner and I were unofficially standing in 7th place and I made a little over $100 in Brackets. I was able to use my pin-up Exodus Pearl in this event. The Exodus Pearl was a wise choice as I could get just enough on the ball to swing the bal a bitl, with the Exodus Pearl it would easily get through the heads. I was then done for the day and was asleep by 8:00pm on a Friday night in Vegas!

Slept all night, got a serious amount of much needed “Z’s” in and was ready for a long Saturday. My day started with a 9:00am Team Event squad and I just couldn’t get lined up on the pair assigned to us(usally get off ot a good start in the a.m.), fired of a measily 640 using a combination of my Exodus Pearl and Exodus Solid(for a few frames), still made $75 in Brackets. Next up was 12:00pm Team Event and I think I this was my pair, tossed my Rico-drilled Exodus Pearl for games of 267-259-239=774. The team is unofficially in 4th place. Made $212 in Brackets and High Game Side Pots.
Took a short 3 hour break and back to the center for the tournaments biggest event: “The Masters”. This event is scratch and requires a 4-game qualifier on two pairs of lanes which included former full-time PBA bowler Chris Johnson. I fired off a 939 for the four games which including a 189 game(don’t remember where that one came from) using my Rico-drilled Exodus Pearl again. Wound up being the 2nd high qualifier as the bracket was set for the top 8. Since I qualified top 2, the top seed and myself got 2 byes and was pleased that  I couldn’t finish no lower than 4th place. Won my first match 217-169 and then had to wait to see who I would have to bowl, the tournament leader destroyed his opponent so it wound up #1 vs. #2 for the title. He tosses the front 6 at my before he missed a 10-pin in the 7th, I struck in frame 1, spare in 2nd and strung strikes to keep close. It came down to the 9th and 10th frames in which he proceeded to strike out  for a 247 game forcing me to strike out in the 10th to win. I strike out and win 248-247!

Overall, I think I really only needed to take my 2 Pearl Exodus balls as that’s pretty much all I needed, I did take my Exodus Iron but never used the ball and only sparingly used the Exodus Solid. I did get a lot of questions about the Lord Field brand and a lot of interested by-standers kept checking out my arsenal, hopefully this will spark some interest and sales. Again, I am very impressed with Lord Field stuff and cannot wait for all the upcoming releases shown at Bowl Expo 2012.

Congrats Pat!!! I noticed a lady in the USWO was wearing a Lord Field jersey!! If people don't have a rico drilled ball in their bag, they are missing a great controlled reaction!!
