Title: The Buzz
Post by: JS on March 18, 2006, 03:38:04 AM
Ball Death just told me that The Buzz is up at Bowlingballmall.com
Thanks BD

It seems like this is going to be a control type ball.  It has the lowest RG of all the LaneMasters/Legends balls except the New Standard, and it has the lowest diff and flare.  It says the new cover has drastically reduced oil penetration which is the opposite direction that Ebonite is going with the One's.
It's not even mentioned on LaneMasters site but BBM says they have them in stock.  Maybe a replacement for the AP?

If Lane#1 is guilty of too much hype, Lanemasters/Legends is certainly on the other end of the scale. These guys need a new marketing person. People have to search for their new releases on other websites - and last time I checked their new ones - Big Bang and World Class are still not on buddies site.

Legends / LM let the balls speak for themselves....  and just b/c they are not on buddies, does that make it a bad ball...

I own a couple of their products - I didn't say they were bad or good - just that their marketing needed work...

I called Galen at LM today to talk to him about the Buzz.  I wanted to know how it fit in with the current lineup.  My original take was that this ball would get thru the heads easily and have a controlled arc on the back.  He said not so!  This is a ball that when the lanes start to breakdown and you wanted to open up the lane this would be the ball to do it with.  I asked how this compared to the Masterpiece and he said they would be similar thru the heads but the Buzz would be much stronger in the back.  Galen said that this ball should not be used on a fresh pattern as the fresh oil would make the ball go too long before making the turn.  He also said it wasn't intended for burnt conditions either.

Right now it is a limited release only through bowlingballmall.com.  No distributors will have it for a few months.
