i drilled up the TX-1 and threw it on a beat up shot and the ball was rolling out at the arrows so this morning i was able to throw it on a fresh shot and while the ball was hooking nice it was a little touchy but it looked like its double revving. I throw it you see the symbols get a tight roll then wide then back to tight as it starts to hook i'm just wondering if any one has had this problem before i've thrown hundreds of balls and never noticed this before i drilled it with the pin 4"from pap and cg stacked right below it.

That progression doesn't sound too unusual if you think about the hook cycle: skid, hook, roll. There could be somehting about the core that makes the flare rings tighter when it starts up. When it gets into the roll cycle, the flare rings will be minimal and tighter. Maybe it's those special engraved labels that let's you see the flaring more easily?

I've been "playing" with the SX-1 for the past few weeks. It revs up FAST off my hand, with a similar drilling.  Mine is also very easy to see, with the bright green labels on the black ball.

Plus these coverstocks, even though they're not supposed to absorb oil quickly, are far from weak. I just redrilled mine, putting the pin in the middle finger hole. Before it was in the ring finger hole.

Also your cover has fairly aggressive finish: 1000 grit Abralon (550 grit US) plus their Gel polish, which looks more like a compound finish. The ball, TX-1, is supposed to handle medium to medium-heavy oil.

My angle evolution reactive does this in one house I bowl in. So I tried my havoc there. Same core, same thing. Then, I noticed another guy with a nighthawk also do this. The ball revs off the hand. Lopes through the midlane. Then, revs up again and heads toward the pocket. I guess it is the core that is doing it because other balls don't look like this.

Is that a problem or just a characteristic of the ball? Just wondering why it would be an issue.
