Rubber bowling balls
« on: February 06, 2005, 02:51:34 AM »
Are therer any present day rules that would prevent me from using a rubber ball?  Also I was thinking of using a rubber ball for a dry lane ball will these hook at all, I have a XXXL lane 1 that is drilled for a straight shot that I can get to hook on the lanes I bowl on if I shorten my approach and slow it down will a rubber ball hook more or less?

Rubber balls are legal and will hook much less than an XXXL. I'd guess they are best saved for spares. Even as dry lanes balls they are not very useful.

less. They havent made rubber balls in probably 20+ years (I may be off by a couple) so no it would not work. Depending on much your XXXL hooks when you slow down would depend on the ball you should get. GO see you pro shop operator and have him watch you bowl and give recommendations. Probably a mid-range reactive would be best.

Thanks for the replies!  I was hoping for something with a little more hook than the XXXL.
