Elite PBA balls
« on: September 07, 2005, 08:30:04 AM »
Not sure if this has been posted, and if so no I haven't searched for it, but I saw this on the PBA page and thought it was interesting. http://www.elitebowling.com/ad_pba.shtml  Elite is releasing a line of balls that are supposed to excel one each one of the 5 PBA patterns.  Looking at the balls, they all appear to use the same TCT coverstock, unless those cutesy little names like Venom and Poison are additives to the cover.  Anyone have any info on these balls?

I have seen all of these balls here in Tulsa. A former PBA member who lives here is on elites staff. All of the balls have a matte finish. I am seriously considering drilling these balls. These balls are made by Brunswick using their covers and some of their core materials. Price is a little pricey.

I hear the Cheetah is a Monster Scream/R remake.  That was a great ball, but I dunno about paying twice as much for it.

I believe they are a good product and have a decent marketing idea behind them. However, like already stated, I can't get more than $200 out of a Track/Columbia name brand ball out of my shop, let alone XXX out of a ball company that nobody has even heard of, even though Brunswick makes them. Its no different when people say who is Roto Grip or Dynothane or Circle Athletics. Even though you tell them all of those companies have their balls poured by Storm, people would rather buy a Storm because they have heard more about them. I also agree that if they were priced around the Arsenal Series they would make more of an impact as they would be available to more people willing to spend that amount.
