PBA show commentators
« on: October 30, 2005, 10:41:29 AM »
After 5 months without a PBA show I was ready, really wanted to see a good show. BUT, once Ryan and Pedersen starting blithering (I use that word advisedly!), I wanted to shove a full size pumpkin down each their throats just to shut them up. I am so far from a violent person, but just listening to their warm-up announcing made so stressed, so irritated and annoyed that I was almost physically ill.

I have to believe that Pedersen didn't believe half (just a wild guess) the crap that he spewed. The guy is a great bowler AND a great pressure bowler, with 13 titles, after all. He knows the situation and what he was saying was NOT the PBA picture.

(Sorry for the rant, but I had to get this opinion into the mainstream.)

I can't say I enjoy the announcing either. That's what the MUTE button is for. Use it. I do...

I was a little shocked to see Jones in the shower lol. The Ozi-o's thing on the cereal box was pretty funny though.

I've said it before each time a thread like this came up and I'll say it again. Dave Ryan is terrible. HE started here in Syracuse, and was one of the commentators for a local bowling competition show for juniors. It was painful to have to watch a replay of some of the times I was on it and listen to him try to talk as if he knew what was going on. Absolutely clueless.

I didn't get a chance to watch the whole title match on my DVR just yet, but I did see the beginning. I thought Malott said "yuck", not F*ck. I guess I'll have to listen more carefully on that one.

As for the broadcasters, I am so sick and damn tired of Pedersen doing the Crocodile Hunter voice when talking about the oil pattern! Jesus, it might have been like 1% amusing the very first time, but since then it has just been remarkably annoying to me. I'm 99.9% positive that I'm going to bowl the PTQ in Hammond. If I do, I will tell him to cut that stupid bit out or prepare for a choke slam! It's seriously like nails on a chalkboard every time I hear him do it!

Gene,

If you do the PTQ in Hammond and you're lucky enough to be paired with Randy Pedersen, when he makes a bad shot go ahead and tell him to use some "mantelligence" the next time he takes a shot.  Tell us his response when you say it.

That was Diandra Asbaty, one of the best female bowlers on the planet.

Which makes here the 1000th best overall j/k

I saw a picture of her in a magazine and she had a fairly high backswing, i thought she might be a female cranker of something but it appears that she has low revs like most female bowlers

I was waiting for that......was very surprized he didn't use it.  I had an over/under bet on how many times Ryan would use that per telecast last year with my bowling buddies.

I see they chucked Leslie Gudel....no loss there.

Send Dave Ryan to OLN for an announcer to be named later.  He can do hockey on OLN since that's really what he does.  BTW--ESPN can take Kirsten Gumm who did some stuff for OLN on the Tour de France for the color girl.  This girl is put together.

First off, whether or not you think "Goddammitt" is a cuss word or offensive is completely and absolutely subjective. Neither side of the argument will agree with the other and there is no clear answer. I don't find it offensive, but I know that it's offensive to some people. We'll just have to agree to disagree on that point. To me, he said nothing wrong.

As for banning him until he learns not to say certain words on TV, how would you know until/unless he's allowed back on TV again? Catch-22, don't ya think?

Leslie Guidel (sp?) I think is pregnant or was pregnant, so she may be out on maternity. Ryan cant focus on bowling as ESPN sends him around to all their "B" sports. He does their Table Tennis and other such events. Just my 2 cents.

God I watch too much ESPN.

I liked Leslie Gudal.  Someone else does even better.

I like Diandra's form ...was she bowling.

New girl was fine and I like Randy Pederson on the show a bunch!

Love his bowling also.

Dave Ryan was selected after I think a 3 way competition.  I liked the second guy better but he is not terrible.  Seems to enjoy watching the game!
