Silva Disqualified
Roberto Silva has been disqualified from the 2005 PBA Tour Trials for using a bowling ball that was not cleared for use in PBA competition.

Silva was 13th with a 7,680 36-game pinfall through the first four days of competition.

“After careful consideration of the facts surrounding the incident, we were left with no other option but to disqualify Roberto per PBA rules governing the use of equipment in PBA competition,” said PBA Tournament Director Kirk Von Krueger.

This is from Purdue Paul's thread Day four at tour trials"Roberto Silva the guy staffed by Storm and from Mexico is probably either going to drop out or be disqualified for using an illegal ball. The ball, which he only used once is some kind of AMF Triumph, he said he used the ball at the Japan Cup with no problems but they might dq him for using it. I saw the event happen 5 feet from me it was great. Supposedly one of the track guys told a fellow bowler that yeah he was gonna be canned after today. Too bad cause he was in the running for the top 10." Kinda wondered myself...

many of the overseas verisons are not approved for use. either that, or the ball maybe perhaps was plugged.

Plugged balls can be used on national tour if they are clear and meet the 5/8 of an inch rule.  But I know for sure it wasn't that because the penalty for that according to the book is 500 dollar fine and the ball is removed.  Only if he was warned once and didn't remove it would he be disqualified.  It had to be just an overseas ball that wasn't registered but i am not 100% sure as he was on the other side of the house but i did cross with roberto the first day of competition.

So they don't have to pay the 99 dollar initiation fee and 19.95 per month and get off, if that's so I think that is total bs.  Everyone is supposed to be equal these days but people who aren't even members can gain exemptions?  That's a croc.
