Do you prefer stepladder or match play finals???

Starting to like match play format better and better.  One game should not decide a week's worth of bowling.

From the point of view of seeing more players, step ladder then again if you really want to see who was better, match play.

Older format of total pins to determine who is on the show.

Those who want match play in what form? Almost all match play on TV has been single game matches. A player could lead the tournament by hundreds of sticks and end up in a tie for 3rd place based on one game and multiple game matches take too long for live TV.

Best of 7? Everything would have to be taped delayed unless you only showed the last match. And you don't know if the match will be over in 4 games or 7 games. Hard to schedule TV around that.


In all fairness single game matches should not be the deciding factor on who wins a tournament. But without them you don't have TV. To often a player might have an lead so large they wouldn't have to bowl the last match.

I wish they would do match play 2 out of 3 and show 2 matches at the same time until the finals.
