Michael Haugen Jr. wins.  Barnes chokes again by missing a 1-pin spare.

I dont want to get chewed out for this but I dont think he choked when he missed the 10! I think he was in such a frickin hurry from being so estatic about winning his 2nd ToC that he just didn't pay much attention on the spare, just kinda got up and threw it. He did however SUCK in the 10th frame!! Overthinking it something huge, before he just got his spot took aim and threw the ball, 10th frame he is sweating bullets and having a heart attack... a deserving lose when you are 50+ ahead.

GOOD LUCK WES!!!!!

Well said...if michael hadnt given up, he wouldnt have stood a chance. Big kudos to him for his mental game...

It was a choke but give props to Michael for keeping his mind in the game and he made a key ball change.  Radar Lock on Right and changed to Max Velocity on the left..

If anyone is interested in watching an athlete close out a tournament when they have a commanding lead, I believe there is a guy by the name of Tiger Woods playing today.

Earl Anthony 'choked' 42 times.

No, Earl Anthony lost 42 times in the finals. Im guessing he may have had a couple questionable losses---but Barnes losses are always questionable. Every time, its not a matter of pin carry---its the killer instinct he lacks. Its the one bad shot in a key time. Or where he cant identify that as a professional he is catching small breaks to win an earlier match and then never makes the adjustment necessary to win---Hell Scroggins did that a couple weeks back and everyone hates him. Im not saying Scroggins is better than Barnes.

My comment for the day......
Shafer does the most with the least. (Maybe not in wins, but to be where he's at the way he stiff legs it---thats crazy)
Barnes does the least with the most. (He is like Pennsylvania sports teams---they find a way to lose and usually they hurt more each time)

when barnes first came out he had the killer instinct..he didnt care and showed his emotions...after a few years he tried to become more mental about everything and it has screwed him up bigtime...he started caring what everyone thought about him instead of getting into the match like he did before..he needs to get back to not caring what all of you think about him, about being the nice guy, and just bowling...more of the p allen attitude he had before..

Hey catchaclue61, why dont you get a clue!!! You state you teach your kids to be everything Barnes is not. What a shame for those kids. Chris Barnes is a guy that you should be modeling the future off of. He is a class act on and off of the lanes. The guy has great family values and should be looked at as a role model for the PBA tour. In my experience he has always been very open to talk to and always willing to sign autographs for kids. There are some of the top players you cannot say the same thing about. Chris is very focused on his job and you will not see him hanging out at the bar afterwards getting smashed, or starting conflict like other PBA professionals have.  So I guess it all depends on what you are wanting to teach the kids, to be a true professional of the game or just another house hack.

They say it every week Chris is on the show that he has one of the best physical games. I have always enjoyed watching him when he is on the show. He made a poor shot at the 10 pin. You can't tell me that none of us have ever made a bad shot at the 10 pin, I know I have had plenty of bad shots at it. Yeah the HUGE difference is he is out on tour I know that. I would love to have the talent he has on his off day. When I am able to start teaching my son how to bowl Chris will be one that I try to show him a lot. As far as him being a choker I am not getting into that conversation.

Chris does have all the tools even Randy said that he is the most talented player out there , he has just got to find a way to have a great mental game, which I am sure everyone will say that he doesn't have

Lets give a shout out to Haugen...he is a class act and had the focus to come back with several strikes..i bowled with him at the us open a few years back...i was very poor, but all he did was give me encouragement and support, setting goals for me to make...great guy and i'm happy he won!

Chris Barnes is the Phil Nickelson of Pro Bowling......What happen in that match is, right after he threw first 9 spare (in the 8th frame i think) he started playing not to lose instead of, trying to strike and win.  Just like Randy said all he needed was to mark out.

Couldn't happen to a better guy...Barnes is everything I teach my kids not to be on the lanes.

and for those lessons you pass on to your kids, they will never be in position to do what Barnes did today. As sick of situation that Chris is going through, I would rather be going through it and having half of his talent on lanes.

Congrats to MHJ what a performance... way to take control of your own destiny and come through when everyone including myself, pretty much crowned Chris..today is a great lesson in not shutting yourself out people..even when it looks grim, it takes one JUST ONE mistake by you or you opponent to turn the tide of the match

Did anyone hear the comment from PA about Barnes? If he could PRY it off his hand on Sunday he'd win every week!!! Of course that applies to a lot of us I'm sure. You would think after all of these meltdowns (chokes) that he would maybe seek some type of mental sports psychology to strengthen his mental approach to Sunday's. Just my .02
