Title: Comparison of Pay in Different Sports

It's probably no surprise that bowling brings up the rear when compared to compensation in other sports:

I had to laugh when I saw bowling lag behind Darts. Oh well. Its is what it is.  :-[

And in the late 60's bowling US Open pay more in comparison to golf and tennis...go figure

Not surprising with the low number of tour events available.


It would be interesting to see a comparison of Walter Ray's winnings at horseshoes vs bowling when he was the best at both.

Shaffer has made more than 20k this summer in regionals.  He also missed the TOC when his wife passed away.

Bowling never paid great, but 10k for a win in the early 70s with 34 stops was a lot closer to what golf paid, although still less.

Today it would be nice if bowlers could make what the golfers make on the mini tour.
