I've seen him calling other stuff on ESPN - can't recall off the top of my head, but my guess is somebody must feel his is the "Jim Nantz" of ESPN.

Question - if the PBA is really paying ESPN to broadcast the show, why not produce the show in a "generic" format and try to shop it around to other TV outlets?  

Does anybody know if ESPN is in charge of securing advertising, or does the PBA sell it's own advertising (similar to what the WWE does for it's wrestling shows)?

Dave Ryan is seriously making me ill with the Finnish language courses and the other dumb antics.
However, I have NEVER thought the chemistry between him and Randy Pederson was ever good. If you look back on the senior tour in 2000 which I belive is when Ryan started with Holman he actully sounded good. When you look at Pederson when he was with Kelly and Thulin in the early 00's he was pretty good.

Dave Ryan and Randy Pederson together has been a disaster! I guarantee if you took out Pederson and just had Duke and Ryan it would be much better. I guarantee if you had Todd Blackledge (ESPN announcer for college) and Randy Pederson they would be good. Ryan Shafer and Norm Duke would be bad. Chemistry matters!
