Without a prize fund being paid, we'll see what the exemption is really worth.

I'm up in the air about going, need to make a decision this week.

No prize fund?.....Wouldn't being exempt and a guaranteed check each week be a prize?   Guess not.

$1000 per day is also a nice little bonus, especially since the entry will be the same.

Yeah, I suppose, but they offered a daily prize fund last year. This year, they are charging the same and not offering a prize fund. Although, if you want to bring a bankroll with you, you can get into brackets and try and win money that way.

Kind of a tough call because they are giving out 10 spots this year instead of 8.

How many people do you expect to enter? For $1500, I wouldn't want to enter unless I really thought I was good enough to get on.

Last year, there was something like 128 entries.

No idea this year, there is no other way to recoop expenses unless you put up more and get in brackets. After May 1, the entry fee goes to 1650.

Will know today or tomorrow if I'm gonna go or not. My boss is really supportive, nothing more he'd love than to see me succeed out there on his coin.

I didn't like the daily prize fund last year. You are there for the sole purpose to give EVRYTHING you possibly have into five days of work. If you succeed then your winnings far outgain what you are losing in expenses. That is the way I would look at it. If you are not sure this far into it then you may want to reconsider your stance towards entering. Just think if you make it out of tour trials how hard it is going to be on tour. It is HARD AS HELL. But trust me you wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING in this world.

The prize fund should have been based on the 45 game total pins final standings. I emailed the PBA about trying this instead of a daily prize fund, but no answer.

They should pay 1 in 3 like they do at Regionals with the top 10 spots being included in the ratio.

So if they had 90 entries, the top 10 guys get the exemption and the next 20 guys get a little something back. We'll see if they change it, they've been known to change things before......
