Is it me or is the PBA throwing a lot of irony out at PA?
« on: January 07, 2007, 06:41:26 AM »
The whole show was basically talked about PA's switch to Ebonite over Track, though they never mentioned the company names. But is it just me, or are they saying certain things that are really funny, and ironic? I know in the title match, on one of PA's strikes, Randy threw out a comment about PA being "a power machine, or just a machine". Hmmm....A Track ball reference? And now on the PBA website, the article about today's show, starts with, "After one of the worst stretches of his career, all Patrick Allen needed to get back on track was a ball change and a week on the Chameleon oil pattern." Am I looking to into this, or is this pretty funny, and seems ironic to others?

Randy's comment might have been a joke, but I doubt the PBA site thing was, as that's a very common phrase and it wouldn't have made sense anyways (he didn't get back on Track, he got off Track).

Currently testing and throwing Track and Roto Grip.  I think it's grand that PA found a coverstock/block, and company that matched his game for this tournament.  I have to admire his will to win, over just a possibly lucrative contract with another bowling ball company.  It's all about finding drillings, coverstocks, blocks, and companies that fit nicely into one's game.

As far as Puns, I love them, no matter in which direction they are pointed. Good or Bad, always interesting. The more puns the better. Wether they are intended or are accidently sighted or creatively imagined.

Its all about matching up..yes it was sad to see PA leave the Track boat. However, these guys have got to do what is best for them to win out there and I respect that in a player. Ebonite doesn't match up very well for me but Track has put out some pieces that are incredible and I'm averaging numbers way above my last year's average. Matching up is the key here guys! God Bless You All and have a great week!

Maybe they are making an XCEPTION 5.0 about Patrick Allen. I mean last year he practically Rule GP2'ed the left hand side playing the TRACK area better than any other lefty, BLAST HEAT ING the competition using a full Ebonite ARSENAL.

The EQUATION is simple....

Ebo > Track

I don't mean to get off Track here, but one could also argue it had to do with PA's Fire.  Perhaps his emotions had been like Ice the first half of the season, so he wasn't able to get to the Big Time like he had the season before?  Maybe there were personal things going on that put his bowling in the Crossfire.  But either way this week was a Big One for him.  He swept his opponents in a Whirlwind of great bowling, seemed like there was No Limit for him.  Would have been interesting to see him in Over Time--sorry, I mean a roll-off.  But there is no question that this title will be The One to make PA realize that sometimes he just does better with a certain brand.  Either way I have Total NV of the way he bowled this week.  Although if I ever win a title shooting a perfect game I would probably ruin the moment by saying something stupid like "It's Smash Time for the pins baby!  Forget Bob Learn, Mr. 300 or whatever they call him, you can call me SiR 300!"

(Okay, so that was a terrible way to get that last ball in.  Couldn't think of anything better.)
