I guess it matters how many shows you make and not how many titles you win.. Not a fan Of rash or Belmonte, so I really didn't care who won..

Rash 29.04%
Belmo 26.61%
Fagan 18.32%
Weber 11.89%
Duke 10.23%

Tough call IMO.  When you look at PBA POY I would look at the following in order:

Major Titles
Major TV Shows
Standard Titles
Standard TV Shows

By that method I would have expected Fagan to be higher given 1 major win, 1 major 2nd, a major 4th, top 16 in the last major as well as a standard title.

Honestly I could make an argument for Rash, Belmo, or Fagan and Rash was clearly the most prominent bowler on TV this year.

I don't like Rash and I am not a Rash fan by any means, but if I was voting, I would have still had to vote for Rash as IMO he was the most deserving and earned it. When voting for something, I don't let my personal feelings get in the way and vote by honesty and not personal feelings.

I don't have a problem with Rash or anyone else on tour, but there is no way he should have won POY. Belmo got hosed!

This vote was taken by the PBA players themselves......no one else. If the players "hate" Rash as much as some of the people who post here there's no way he should have won......

Come to think of it......Chris Barnes was named Player of The Year as well......and there are HUNDREDS of people on this website who hate him.

I agree with your first point.  If everyone hates Rash then how did he win POY?

However, your Chris Barnes point may be correct except Barnes won POY in one of the years they were experimenting with the POY point system.  There was no vote that year.

A person can hate a bowler and still vote for that bowler thru their feelings of honesty if they feel that bowler was the best even though they hated that bowler.

If a person votes against a bowler because they hate that bowler, then that person is voting as if it was a popularity contest and not who was really the better bowler.

Foolishness.  Rash led in points, money, pins knocked down, appearances, and average.  DOMINATING year.  Take a clue from the players, they know.
Long Gone also posts the honest truth which is why i respect him. He posts these things knowing some may not like it.
