Norm Duke...+29??..60th place??
« on: February 10, 2005, 06:33:53 AM »
Duke shoots lights out in Atlanta last week and is struggling mightily on pattern E with 1429.  He's in 60th place(outta 64).

This seems to happen a lot.  A guy wins, has his exemption for next year, so his focus isn't quite there.  Of course, that could be one of many possible situations.

You're right.  Plus, pattern E tends to favor a bowler with a fair amount of hand AND speed.  Although Traber leading might dispel that notion...lol!

Pattern E should suit Duke's game very well as he's quite capable of playing the gutter.

Speaking of playing the gutter WRW is not doing very well either in 44th.

I have bowled on pattern E. No it is not easy. None of those patterns are. The point that I was trying to make was with WRW's past sucess I was surprised to see him as far down as he is. I would have to say when it comes to being able to controll the ball he is one of the best if not the best right now. ALL I WAS trying to say. Sorry to have upset you.

I'm rooting to see Pete Weber on the Show -- The Most Versatile Player Ever !
If it weren't for his youthful transgressions for so many seasons in the past when he was banned from bowling so often, who knows how many titles he would have amassed by now.

I really don't think it has much to do with how often he's been suspended.  It's more about his mental game, or lack thereof.

As a well-known bowling coach once told me, if Pete had Parker's mental game, he'd have 60+ titles.

Seadrive,
I agree with you; however, what I am saying is that even though Pete was not right upstairs in the years past (is he OK now?), he surely would have been able to acquire a few more titles had he been given the chance to compete, given the fact that his physical game was unparalleled when he was younger, thus the reason he  a dominating force.
