2014 USBC Senior Masters stepladder finals
« on: June 13, 2014, 09:09:32 PM »
This is old fashioned bowling on TV. Filled with lots of interesting twists.
Personally I'm glad to see Mike Edwards bowling so well: changing lines and balls with every game. If it weren't for his "TV jitters" I think he would have won 25 BA titles.

25? I disagree with that strongly, you say 25 titles like any run of the mill tour player can achieve it. I was watching on my computer at work today and also watched the stepladder later this evening. Two people, a co-worker and my girlfriend noticed Mike Edwards shimmying, shaking, etc during his setup. Mind you, neither of these people are bowlers and they both thought he was having a seizure or episode of some sort with the constant shaking and wiggling.

If this was 5-7 years ago, this would've been a can't miss show on ESPN, today, its relegated to youtube.

So they don't understand how some athletes settle their body nerves. Most people realize that what he was doing was just another version of what many, many athletes do before they execute.

Yes, 25 is my belief. He is only a run of the mill when he is on TV. Cameras do that to many people.

Watch and enjoy the show or don't. Your choice.

I enjoyed the show... And I have carried plenty of those lucky strikes (WRWJ) in my day!

Carried a few myself, just never when I really needed them.

Not sure, but the color was similar to the burgundy Ringer.  Anyone know for sure?

It seems he was throwing the Fortera Exile all week.  I have no idea if that's what he uses on the show, though.  When he posts on Facebook about tournaments he mentions a Nexxus quite a bit, and I had just assumed that was probably it.

Walter was definitely throwing the Fortera Exile.
I doubt that Edwards was on TV much more than 25 times...
