understand that wtba rules states that bowling pins should not be less than 3lb 6oz and not heavier than 3lb 10oz
are the pins used on tour heavier than 3lb 10oz?
if yes whats the exact weight of the pins?
i remembered the tour used the gold pins, how heavy are they?
sorry to ask such a question as i cant seem to find any answer from the tour site.

I believe that the gold pins were about 1 pound heavier than the standard white ones.

3 holes of fun!!

They were only a few ounces heavier at 3lbs. 10oz.

Who needs a 300 or 800, when I have a 294 and a 295!?!?!
-
We have a set of the gold pins that we put in now and then... we only have enough for 1 pair, but the few ounces difference is definately noticeable. Although at times the carry is actually better because the pins tend to stay on the deck a little longer.

gold pins were heavier and harder to knock out, no crazy messengers

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment
When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

the brunswick professional pin( the gold ones ) were 3 lbs. 10oz., the most weight allowed by abc( now usbc ) rules.
-
Pretty sure the TV pins are still standard Brunswick max pins with PBA stickers on the bottom.
-
I believe the ones the PBA uses now are the 3lb 6oz pins most centers use now I believe.
The gold pins were as stated the maximum 3lb 10oz, and so were much harder to carry with. Personally I think they should bring those back, that was a good idea.

Correct.
Gold pin racks were 2.1/2 pounds heavier than the standard.

dolby do a little closer look you have several confirmations of 3 lbs 10 oz which would equal 4 oz/pin more at 10 pins per rack = 40 oz or 2 1/2 lbs more total weight per rack.

I'm not a touring player and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I know that, at one point, the gold pins were 58 oz(that's for those who couldn't figure out what the 40 oz/two and half pounds).
