It's quite obvious these 2 PRO Bowlers have serious
game. Call them what you want but in my eyes it's not
the form that scores. I've always been told that it's not
the form so much as repetition of shot making. Go Scroggins
and Shafer.

As per the PBA:
"All four group winners (Osku Palermaa, Wes Malott, Brian Kretzer, Mike Scroggins) will meet in Sunday’s live ESPN finals starting at 12:30 p.m. Eastern, bowling concurrently in the first game. The player with the lowest game will be eliminated. The three survivors will bowl a second game, with another player eliminated. The two survivors will then bowl for the title and a $25,000 first prize."

Funny you say that since he did get special treatment: "Palermaa, who bowled in the tournament on a PBA Commissioner’s Exemption" (as per the PBA).
I'm not knocking Osku, he's obviously a tremendous bowler, but so is Belmo, and it shouldn't be a peeing contest to prove who's better--let's just enjoy watching their talents on exhibit and not bash.

Sorry way off base here...Osku is amazing but he hasn't been as versatile as Belmo. He could hook it better than anyone, but as we've seen over and over again on tour if you can't play with your breakpoint in front of you you're not going to amount to much.

Not saying you are not correct here but Osku did make the TV show at the US Open a few years ago, largely considered the hardest shot on the tour... this guy had game and a lot of it, I just don't think he is fully committed to the PBA tour full time like Belmo now is.

I don't see how it's "very well put" given that, as someone has already pointed out, Belmonte won his tournament coming up through the rabbits, while Osku is on this show after getting a commissioner's exemption. If anything, Osku is the one who got special treatment.
Belmonte is getting special marketing push. He's not getting special treatment. There's a difference there.
Note that I'm not commenting on who's the better bowler between the two, but to say Belmonte got special treatment on the way to his title is laughable.

Yeah Jason Hurd won a title too and his feet have never seen right of 25...I said he's incredibly talented but wasn't as versatile as Belmo until the last year or so. I saw it at the Megabucks where Osku would struggle on shorter patterns where the shot was out and Belmo would still whack them.
Once again...not saying he wasn't good...because he's stupid good. Just saying that he had to learn to tone it down just like Belmo did.

In the step ladder format there is a disconnect between making the show and the audience seeing that each bowler had to compete against the field.
When it got down to just two bowlers I actually like it less - LOL

Versatility isn't the ability to just throw it in one area...it's being good at it. Mike Fagan, Tommy Jones, Barnes all had to learn it when they went out there, Kretzer is finally learning after years of trying to play left of everyone all the time that in match play you bowl on fresh.

I definitely second that motion, Scroggins whiffs a second 7-pin of the day and Kretzer is too scared to change balls and move in and do what he does best. It was obvious he was thinking about it during the title match due to the way he shot a couple of spares, he should've just made the change. It couldn't have been any worse then what he was doing.
IMHO, the front of the lane was going in the zone he was playing in and the hold spot he had been using was gone. That was probably the worst title match I've seen on TV in a while. I should've turned it off when Wes and Osku were eliminated.

Throwing the ball with the fingers on the side and pulling across the face on every shot is not the way to play the lanes straight, especially since he couldn't hit the same mark twice in a row and get proper roll on the ball all at the same time.
I couldn't agree more with what others have already stated--this was a terrible championship game, perhaps the worst I've ever seen.

I said nothing to the effect of "I'm as good as him...or even close". The point is that he doesn't really hook it all that much. He just throws it slow as all get out.
