This weeks show....
« on: November 08, 2009, 03:27:42 AM »
I tune in to watch bowling, not a recap of the entire qualifying tournament!!!!!!! I could care less how they got there. This is stupid. No wonder the PBA is losing viewers and support from the general public.
Definitely not like the hey days of the old Saturday afternoon telecasts. Idiots...............

I don''t even know what happened???

It sounded like they recapped the tournament qualifying in sunday''s show but in the last match, they said Norm won his 33rd title??? I thought this was the path to get to tv, not the actual championship match? If so, the PBA does not look professional anymore. It''s nice to get insight of the pros but the way they went about it made it seem very unprofessional.

It''s one thing to not like the way the show was setup for TV but to not know that final match was for the title... are you THAT dense?  Even Helen Keller would have figured that out lol.

I found that alot more interesting than the usual stuff they do.

nd Are you ever happy about how a tourney goes? You are sound like a woman crying about everyting they do.

You guys what do you want the PBA to do for a telecast? You want them to change something they change it you complain, they put it back they way it was stepladder style and people are whining.

WHAT DO YOU WANT THEM TO DO FOR A SHOW!

I'd like to see them somehow pay for a bit more TV time and give 30-40 minutes similar to what today's show was with the remainder being a standard show.  With the financial situation that's unlikely to happen, but it was nice to see some other bowlers and how everyone got to the show.  Making all of the matches, including what would normally be on TV best of 7 matches, it was going to be hard to do no matter what.

It's bowling, so how about showing us some?

If I want/need a documentary, I'll turn on the history or discovery channel and watch something there.

If T.V. bowling has turned into documentary form like today, the PBA will disappear pretty quickly. Nobody is interested in what happened three rounds ago to get the players into the final rounds, except maybe family members, so why bore the only audience you've got with documentary style narrative explaining to us what we would've seen for ourselves IF YOU HAD SHOWN IT TO US.

I waited all week for THIS crap? If they use this format again, I won't waste any more of my time.

Maybe I SHOULD take up golf. At least they still show the players actually competing during the actual play of the tournament and don't tape it to make a "documentary" to be shown at a later date.

  This SUCKED.

I really liked the recapping for most of the tournament, but I would have much preferred to see a single-game final match and get to see the whole thing than a best-of-7 final match made up of clips.  The tension and excitement of having the title hang on a single ball or frame was gone.  The game where Duke was behind 42 pins would have been great to see.

I'd kinda like to see a half hour or so of the recap like they did, then the semi-finals and final match be single-game so we could see everything.  There just was no tension or buildup.  They could make the semi-finals abbreviated like they do with the shows on ESPN Classic (show maybe six or seven of the ten frames for each of those matches), then the final in its entirety.

I'm really glad they tried something new.  When your ratings are suffering, you can't keep doing the same stuff over and over and cross your fingers.  You gotta try something.  Turns out this wasn't exactly it.

And check out Duke on the PBA site with the two honeys.  Hard to tell if he's grinning from ear to ear because of winning or the fact that he's the meat in a little blonde sandwich.

I applaud the PBA for daring to try something new. I found the show very entertaining. We've known for weeks who won this event...it was interesting to see how the whole week unfolded. Living in South Florida, I've never had the opportunity to witness a "week on the PBA tour," as it never comes this way.

Do I want this every week...no. But is it a nice change-of-pace..heck yes!

I do like seeing the qualifying rounds.

But, I did not like the way they did the final round.

I would rather see a live final round.

To me, the final match lost its excitement
because I knew it wasn't live.  Maybe,
make the final match best out of 3 so it
could be done live on TV.

I liked the documentary approach. I wouldn't want this every week, but once or twice a season is OK. A final best of 3 with commercials after each game would have been better. To those who think there were too many commercials, I think we need people to want to advertise during a bowling show. If they can't sell it,they won't show it. If they can sell the same number of spots for more money, the PBA won't have to pay for TV time.

I also think the MISSING CROWD took a lot away from the telecast! All the excitement of BOWLING was gone .. who cares what's going through their heads .. performance is what counts. Do you honestly think they are thinking all that garbage .. they want to knock those pins down the best they can .. looking from shot to shot not thinking what's my opponent thinking! STUPID!

I'm amazed at the amount of pure hatred here.  You people aren't just displeased.  You sound downright infuriated to the point that you want to kill every single person involved in the PBA or something!  I never can fully comprehend just how mean and bitter and perpetually unhappy bowlers really are.  NOTHING makes you people happy.  NOTHING.
