Was he throwing the Energy for sure? Or could it have been the Crisis pearl?

They should bring back the "loud crowd" atmosphere that they had on the PBA telecasts some years back. Or perhaps pipe in loud "bowling sounds" like taped pinfall, racks, balls rolling, etc. That way, guys like PA and Randy wouldn't get so distracted by someone coughing, moving, blinking their eyes, breathing, etc. while they're in their approach.
I thought Randy showed no class today in his match. I'm not saying he didn't have distractions (slight or large though they may be), but you can either handle those distractions with class or without class, and Randy handled them without class.

P.S. I know that Jabroni will probably go off on this comment, but for goodness sakes can we get someone besides Brian Voss in the booth for those times when Randy makes the show? Holy cow he's bad. It's like having two Dave Ryans in the booth!
Ryan: "Strike!"
Voss, simultaneously: "Strike!"

Ryan: "He needs this strike...AND HE GOT IT!"
Voss, simultaneously: "HE GOT IT!"

The woman who does the interviews now seems pretty sharp and also seems to know bowling. Put her in the booth instead of Voss! Heck, you can even put her in place of Randy.

I don't think you can say Randy showed no class-- He could have gone PA on the kid and whined and got him removed and so on and so forth, but he just said "OK, I need you to stand there like a little statue, OK?"

As for after the match-- I understand he threw a bad shot, and I'm not really in a position to say whether or not the "cough" or "shout" or whatever affected him, but I'll tell you something-- If I'm in Randy's situation, where I'm SO close to something that's SO important to him, and someone disrupts his motion even in the slightest bit, I'd be pretty aggravated too.  When someone sneezed during a golf tournament once, Tiger Woods had them removed from the gallery, and the announcers were going "Well, Tiger's a guy that needs perfect concentration to focus, he did what he had to do."  No double-standards please.  It's too bad if someone coughed by accident, it's too bad if they did it on purpose.  But I can't sit here and call Randy Peterson classless because he got caught up in one of the most emotional tournaments in his life.  I'm not going to ask every single bowler to walk back from the approach with a straight look on his face after every smash, tap, carry, or coversion, especially in big-time situations.  It's sports, they're human.  It's above all entertainment.

As for another person in the booth.  I hate Ryan, he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.  The girl who does the interviews will never be in the booth, she's just doing PBA telecasts to move up the ranks to NFL or MLB someday.  We need someone else who knows bowling on the telecast.  Maybe open auditions from BR?

As for another person in the booth; Randy is very insightful, and there have even been some complaints about him coming too far over the top with the bowling jargon (not that I'm complaining).  I hate Ryan, he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, and I don't think he gets "it".  The girl who does the interviews will never be in the booth, she's just doing PBA telecasts to move up the ranks to NFL or MLB someday.  We need someone else who knows bowling on the telecast.  Maybe open auditions from BR?

Was at the show and someone said something right before his releasing the ball and caused him to pull up just a little was in the second row right next to the approach the person making the noise was up in the top seats in line with the foul line. That is what made it disturbing.

To me it sounded like the Public Address guy was fumbling around with the mic. And it almost sounded right after the shot like was was saying something about them not cutting the mics.

COUGH???

I was left with the impression that Randy was mincing words...what he described as a cough was probably more in the lines of an intentional attempt to distract and Randy wasn't going to go on the air and say "some guy in the upper deck insisted on being a jack-a-ss and I was unable to Barney balk."

I was at the show, in the second row on the approach.  Right next to the
foul judge.  I heard a cough, he(the foul judge) didn't...The kid in the yellow shirt was in
the front row down towards the pin deck.  After the event talking with security,
they ID'd the guy in the stands who made the 'intentional' sound.  (he is supposed to have confessed to Arena Security and was removed from the event). FWIW
