Title: TOC spoiler
Post by: Ken De Beasto on February 07, 2016, 09:31:29 PM
Dam felt bad for ej tackett . randy pederson going ham on air saying he garbage on TV shows. I was hating on randy until 10th frame where ej had power position to force tom daughtery to throw a double atleast but he threw a 6!!!

I'm digging belmo sticking to his roots and throwing his oil pattern crusher the hy road. But man he was throwing some bad shotssss and again losing to daughtery making him 0-3 against Daugherty on TV.

Once jesper beat daughter I was sure he was gonna take the tournament. His nerves were gonna be more controlled than Mitch Beasley. Like randy said hard to beat jesper when he throwing his power line with urethane.

I couldn't believe it when EJ got the 6 count. Belmo threw some pretty bad shots and the left lane got trashed

Yea I was afraid he was gonna explode on live TV cause at reno he threw his glasses on the ground off TV lights. Sucks he can't control them nerves, I can only imagine what it feels like to bowl in front of TV. When I went for my 300 I was feeling weak haha I might throw in the gutter in ej position.

Yep.  The sole lefty that qualified for match play out of the entire field wins and that somehow means that they gave the tournament to him.

Then the PBA Championship happens a few months back where the righty has the entire side of the lane all to himself and doesn't win.  Damn lanes are setup for left handers and that's why a lefty won.  ::)

I thought Belmo should have changed to an earlier reading ball after the over/under monster that is the Hyroad kept rearing its ugly head.

This years TOC was a great tournament. Daugherty bowled rather well and made smart moves when he had to; however, the left lane doomed any right-hander, and no one could make a consistent reaction.
I was pulling for Beasley since the beginning, but Jesper is an unstoppable force. Randy P was right when he said that Jesper was only bowling against himself, since the right-handers couldn't figure out the left lane; yet, Jesper still had to make his shots, with urethane no less, and win a major as a 20 year old.
It was a pretty great tournament. EJ Tackett is still looking for TV redemption, but it'll come soon enough.

Someone besides Belmo won, which made it fun to watch.  Nothing against him, I'm just tired of commentators crowning him champ before he's even thrown a shot.

Daugherty bowled well, and I felt bad for Beasley, who didn't get to the lanes until they were pretty butchered up.

The lefty had a huge advantage, in that he could get the urethane ball to carry well.  "Reaction" with urethane is so simple (early and smooth) that IF you can carry corners life is easier on tough patterns.  His unique combination of speed, revs, and ball choice made it hard to imagine anyone beating him yesterday.  I enjoyed the telecast.

  I enjoyed the telecast.

It was enjoyable to watch. There were some open bowlers at our center that were actually watching it very closely.

I was surprised by Belmonte's ball choice. In the match play rounds he seemed locked in with a Pitch Black when I was watching Xtra Frame

Urethane and plastic were favorites when I was experimenting with two-handed bowling. I was once leading a PBA Regional qualifying squad throwing plastic up the outside on Chameleon when nobody else was even close to playing that area. It's a great choice if you can get it to carry.

As well as the j/o that had to comment on the devaluing of 300's in the other thread.  I mean, really?

I agree, but not because a lefty won it.

I understand why they do it, but having the whole tournament in a center, then moving venue for the finals just got to suck for some of the guys, especially Mitch, who didn't even stand a chance with the way they broke down.

The left lane just barfed on the righties. Didn't really give them a chance against ANYBODY on the left side. Can't believe that it had been doing that all week or else all the finalist would've been lefties.

Luck of the draw I suppose.
