I just watched this on My DVR. It was the BEST Telecast I ever have seen. Got to see 2 Hall Of Famers Bowl and 1 Announcing. I love Marshall Doing the Color. No Randy. It was great. Plus I though Dave did a good job Announcing. And Thank You CBS for showing it.

IMO, Lamont and Holman are the best announcer and color people in the business right now. They seem to know that their audience wants the show to be about the bowling and not the TV commentators,.
-
I also liked the fact that they had CDB doing some interviews with the bowlers rather than Kimberly Pressler. I agree 100% it was a great telecast.
-
I could not agree more. I think if I hear Randy P. saying "went out for burger and fries and came back with steak and bake potato" one more time I may go nuts. Kimberly is nothing more than eye candy, she really does not know or understand bowling. Carolyn is a pro who "gets it".
Hats off to CBS Sports for having a "team" that adds quality and professionalism to the
broadcast.

Is there a link to this anywhere yet? Would love to watch it.

Thank you!

I was missing Mike J. He knows plenty about the sport and you can tell. He knows the right questions to ask the color man.
That said, I've had enough of Randy P.

This times infinity.

I enjoyed the telecast, especially not hearing "60 feet to success" or how player "X" has "Maple Moxie".
It was definitely refreshing, and I had a smile on my face not seeing Randy's face or hearing his voice on the telecast. We need more of this going forward!
Sadly I am guessing with it going back to PBA on ESPN and not being the US Open, we will once again be subjected to Randy.......

I got tired of "Want some coffee with that sweet roll?"

Yet we yearn for that "he's in a MUST-STRIKE situation to take the lead in the match." "here we go!"

48:21 mark, does Norm drop an "F-bomb"? Sure sounds like it to me.
-
It definitely sounds that way. I remembered thinking that when I watched it live too.

How about Bo Burton Jr and Marshall Holman doing color -- wouldn't that be awesome!

they did that before. It was awkward.
The reason why Shenkel and Burton worked, and to an extent, Stone and Pedersen, is that Shenkel and Stone were great colour commentators, leaving Burton and Randy for the play-by-play.
Since Holman and Burton both were serious bowlers on the tour, both are best with play-by-play. You'd need a good colour commentator to balance them, which is why the telecasts they did together sounded odd. I remember them arguing over which way to shoot a 10-pin, between using the same strike ball and killing the wrist, or plastic.
