Why is Kelly Kulick bowling
« on: January 21, 2010, 02:08:58 PM »
Why is she in the TOC?  I know she is a great bowler, but she never won a PBA tournament.  She might have won a women's series event/major, but I just don't get why they put her in there.

All the other guys in the TOC had to defeat some of their fellow competitors at some point to earn a spot.  But Kulick never won a title bowling against any of the other TOC bowlers.  She beat a bunch of women in the Women's World Championship at the WSOB.

not afraid, but I can admit she is way better than me.  I just don't think they should create a special entry for a woman in the TOC when it has not been done before.

and if they want to open it up to women who did not win a regular PBA event, then they should let any past womens champion bowl too.

Dude they let the Women's Wold champion bowl, they also let the winner of the RPC and the RPI bowl and also the senior champions bowl too.

I agree with bowlallthetime.  Not doubting her talent at all, she is doing her thing right now.  But this is suppossed to be a special tournament for pba tournament winners only.  I don't agree with letting the rpi winner or senior champion to bowl either.  They should give those spots to the pba winners that were knocked out by the newest winners, lacaze, oneil, etc. Erik Forkel from what i heard was the last knocked out.  He should be bowling, not kelly

Joe Jr., I said earlier that I didn''t agree with the regional entry as well.  Same goes for the Seniors.  It''s a completely different accomplishment when you win a regular PBA event, compared to winning a women''s tournament/senior tournament/regional event.  Competition is at a completely different level.

Really doesn't make much sense that your 1st title could be in the Tournament of CHAMPIONS...but that's the PBA for you

Kelly Kulic made the show as the second seed. There was some great bowling going on in position round. I feel bad for Tony Reyes though as he did not make the show.
1. Chris B.
2. Kelly K.
3. Mika K.
4. Rhino

Great for Kelly!  In your opinion she did not belong.  Evidence shows that by being the second seed that she did indeed belong in the group.  Thats JMO.

i bad as i feel for tony reyes for missing the telecast you also have to realize that shooting 159 in the position round is really shooting yourself in the foot. this may be a by-product of not bowling on tour full time this year.

I was really pulling for Tommy to make a come-back and get to the cut... he tried hard the last round but it was too late
