unfortunately randy who I think was and still is a great bowler, never got over that shot.... he was never the same after that..

I feel like Ernie Schlegal was a bit...uh, un-cool to say the least.  While PA did the same thing this year with WRW Jr., he was more in disbelief than parading around celebrating.

How unprofessional can you get, Schlegel? If I pulled that, I'd be embarrassed to show my face in a bowling alley for a LONG time.

Jesus. In all seriousness, though, this is one of the biggest moments in Randy's career. If he gets that carry, he goes on to win 10 more titles, I'd be willing to bet.

And on back to back weeks...not only this, but the week before he loses to Bob Learn in the title match of the highest set in televised bowling.  A couple of BRUTAL weeks.

i'm sorry, but pedersen didn't lose in back to back weeks. pedersen lost to schlegel in the '95 bayer/brunswick touring players championship. he lost to learn in the '96 flagship open.

That 8-pin that Randy left had to be gut wrenching.  I left a couple of those last night on great shots...that sucked bad enough in just a mens league.  I can't imagine the feeling of doing that to lose a title like that.  Talk about shell shock...good god.

The one Barnes left was on, what I though, his  best shot of the day.  Absolutely dead flush, ten in the pit all day long.....and to look up and have that SOB staring at you.  Just a kick right in the fellas.

Say what you will about Schlegel but he made a very prophetic statement about bowling ball technology.  When asked how long he could continue to compete at his age, he replied "as long as they keeg giving me TNT to shoot at toothpicks I can compete."
