Tessatore in the Booth
Joe Tessatore will fill in for Dave Ryan this Sunday’s during the live ESPN televised finals of the 2005 Keystone State Championship. Ryan, who will miss this week due to another commitment, will return to his play-by-play duties next week.

Though probably prevented by some contract with ESPN, It's a shame the PBA doesn't work out some deal where the person who finishes #5 for the week gets some bonus bucks for working the telecast opposite Petersen.  It would be interesting to hear the comments, stories, and general take of the other guys out there on tour.

i saw dave ryan on espn today as a sideline reporter for college football. tomorrows telecast without dave ryan and pete weber sounds pretty good to me.

Well if you ask me, Dave Ryan is not that bad, and the Joe guy who takes his place when hes gone, isnt a great replacement. For all those who watch the show with the mute button on...well you dont have to when the Joe guy is commentating, cause he simply does not say much, making it like the mute is on.  

P.S. Dave Ryan was lucky to miss this weeks yawnecast...oops I mean telecast.

Joe Tessatore is an excellent sports reporter--- he used to do local coverage here in CT for our local CBS affiliate, WFSB.

That said, I don't know if he's really that knowledgeable about bowling.  As much as people rag on Ryan, he at least knows SOMETHING about bowling and since ESPN is not going to hire a Schenkel (sp?) type we might as well make due with what we have.

Personally I thought Tessitore was better than anyone they've had on in the past few years.  The man showed he has some knowlege of bowling.  Something Ryan has never shown.  Now if we can get him (ryan) to stay away and teach "Maple Moxie, Crocodile Randee" to come up with some new lines the show might just get to be a professional presentation.
