Very much so, it will be interesting to see how the players respond as there seems to be incentive not to go out on the tour this coming season. Hopefully this is just one season with cut backs and things turn around but its hard to be optimistic right now.

Some neat stuff there.  The $10k prize for first at the WSOB is a bit underwhelming, but hopefully the rest of the tour makes up for that.  The TOC certainly is a nice start.

The Fri-Sat-Sunday bowling on TV is also an awesome addition.  Great move IMO.

I look forward to the season.

I like some of the ideas, and love that we're finally getting HD again, but seriously the ship has sailed on the exempt tour.

I think I heard taps being played in the background while reading that. There's only 2 ideas that I liked, 3 day telecast on some events and a $1mil prize fund for the TOC. Now my concern is, how much of that money is being sucked from other tournaments to fund that kind of purse. Pay $600 per tournament entry, put $125 of that into a TOC savings account and payout the remaining??? We all know the sponsors won't put out that kind of money.

I did update the information on the trials at the RPC in May:

Update: I also learned that there will be no Tour Trials. But there will be a trials for the World Series events as part of the Regional Players championship in late May, where 20 players will earn the right to join the exempt pros in competing in the World Series (and obviously the World Championship if they are among the top eight in pinfall for the 70 games of qualifying in the World Series events).

For the TOC, my guess is they are counting on the extra entries they can get by allowing all PBA champions to compete.  Includes any title won involving the PBA name during any time period.

If you won a PBA event in 1960, you are eligible.

Actually, I don't know that ANYTHING is/was/could be worse than the Koko debacle...
