I'll watch it and DVR it as much as I can. I support the woman being back on tour and back on TV. There are a couple of them that I follow and hope they have a lot of success.

I'm glad the women finally have their tour back also. Besides CDB and Kelly Kulick and Leanne Hulsenberg as being 3 I enjoy watching, I would love to see if Brittni Hamilton and Danielle McEwan can get some titles. Those 2 have a lot of offer as up and coming stars on the tour.
1 person I enjoyed watching throwing the ball a lot towards the end of the tour back in 03 was Michelle Feldman. Nobody except maybe Tammy Turner could rev it as much as her. I wonder if she has contemplated maybe bowling a few of the stops.

2003 US open....Michelle vs Kelly.....Ebonite V2 Particle vs Predator Jungle Green...I skipped playing golf that day (rain) and watched these two go at it.... those were the days I enjoyed watching bowling and didn't skip a week....

I doubt this, for 3 main reasons.
- They are TOURING. The PBA hasn't done that for the past 5 years, if not longer. Their cutting costs by serving up their shows in static locations cost them dearly, in the form of interacting with the fans of the players and those in the sport. With the ladies back and out on tour, people will go to see them. That brings in revenue for them at pro-ams, and ticket sales to qualifying, match play, and finals.
- Old Favourites + Fresh Meat. I don't mean that in any derogatory way, but with the PWBA today, you have set up what basically was the PBA from 10 years ago: New faces who can compete with the tried and true pros. Think about it. CDB and Leanne have more titles between them than the ages of some of the newer ladies coming up. And talk about matches you would only see in a fantasy league! Someone mentioned Zajvalova as being a female Fagan. Well, Boomer still has a vicious swing. Ever thought you'd see that matchup? McKewan and Liz strike with ruthless efficiency. Romeo and Duggan are still hungry for titles. And some of the ladies are old enough to be the newer girls' mothers.
- Did I mention they are TOURING? Would you rather want to fly out to Vegas for 5 weeks to catch the PBA, on your own dime, then follow them around Europe and Japan, as the PBA is now joined in with the WBT for their tournaments, or be able to catch them in places not too far from you, and not so much of a distance if more than one stop is nearby? I have friends of mine back in Omaha who are going to the Wichita stop, the Topeka stop, as well as Lincoln, all because they are within 3 hour's drive. That makes accessibility much easier, and with that, you get more that are able to SEE the people they see on TV, and that's what builds the numbers of fans.
I think that if this goes over well, This has the potential to put the PBA on notice, and have them take note of what they are NOT doing that put them in the position they are in now, compared to how well the PWBA would be doing.

All these things you listed were in play when they folded before. Lets face it, not many people are that interested in women's bowling. There hasn't been some miraculous rebirth, they will tread water for a little bit, then fold, again. I hope I'm wrong.
With Xtra frame, I can pay $3.99 and watch the PWBA from the comforts of my home or office. Hell, I said to my girlfriend "we should drive up to Green Bay and watch some of the local girls we know (Cortese, Kelly, Wojnar)" then I thought, why would I waste all that time and money to drive to Green Bay when I can watch for a fraction of the cost at home? Touring, was great, before the advances of the internet and streaming, they would literally have to be within minutes of my house for me to consider going to watch.

North Face I TOTALLY disagree. The whole fun of the Tours is to see Your favorite Bowler/Bowlers in person. To get their Autograph. To party with them. My Wife and I went to a MD. Tournament years ago and partied with the Ladies after Qualifying. It looks like a lot of Young Ladies now and it is nice to see the older ones too. Its just what Bowling might need. The PBA is struggling because noone wants to see cockiness and arrogance. The Ladies do much better with Fans. It will not fold this time.

It was a crapshoot to be able to sit down and talk with the guys on the PBA, just based on their attitude from how well or poorly they bowled that day. You just didn't know if you could approach them.
The first time the ladies came to Omaha in 1994, not only was I nervous as hell trying to walk over to say hi to the woman I idolized the most on the tour (Dana Miller-Mackie), I couldn't even get the words out of my mouth that I would like her autograph. Not only did she actually come up to me and introduce herself to me because I was so nervous, she walked me over to introduce me to Lisa Wagner, Anne Marie, and Aleta Sill, which I got a good 20 minutes of face time each with them. I supported Dana throughout that tournament that at the end of it, she left me her Rhino RE, which I still have. We've been friends ever since.
The following year, it was Liz Johnson, Sue Jeziorski, Feldman, Jodi Woessner, and Tammy Turner.
All of this comes home to roost, when you've seen and known them long enough that after that day's bowling, they invite you to dinner with all of them, and you get to know them as PEOPLE, not just bowlers on TV.
You can't get that with Xtra Frame.
The main reasons the PWBA folded at time was that they lost two major sponsors: Sam's Town didn't renew their contract, and National Airlines went bankrupt. National was owned by Michael Conway, who was also on the Senior Tour. They sponsored a lot of their tournaments after Sam's Town left, and National struggled hard after 9/11, especially seeing that they were based in Vegas. They folded a year later, with the PWBA folding 9 months after National.

The fact this thread isn't getting much traction kind of tells the story, look, I want the ladies to succeed just as much as you two do, but, I think your rose colored glasses and being stuck in the "glory years" time portal prohibit you from looking at this realistically. I mean a story was brought up from 1994 for Christs sake!!!

I would think it's safe to assume everyone on this board or at least a majority wants the PWBA tour to be a success. That doesn't mean that they have to come to this thread and gush about how happy or excited they are.

I'm still friends with those people now. 21 years later. Leanne owned the pro shop I go to. I still talk to the others. When you haven't seen them for 15+ years, and they still come up to you and know you by name out of the years and years of meeting tons of people, that is a bigger success than anything negative that can be said.
You call it an old story; are you still friends with people you met 20 years ago? People who have gone from who you simply watched on TV and idolized, to being your FRIENDS?
Bigger success than you can ever imagine.
And this thread is what you are basing it on? You do realize that this place isn't even a blip on the barometer of how many people are interested in the PWBA? If there wasn't the interest all around, there wouldn't have been the effort to bring the PWBA back. I already know that in my area, interest is through the roof, despite for my local stop, Liz and Kelly won't be there, because it is occurring at the same time as the Japan Cup.
So don't think that this place is the be all/end all for interest in the PWBA, because it isn't.

Then what is the measuring stick? One can surmise, lots of views + no response= no tangible interest.
Lots of views + no response = nothing constructive to say.
I read almost all new posts that come up. If I see them and have nothing constructive or an additional inquiry then I just don't say anything. No response doesn't mean no interest all the time.

Sue Jeziorski. Definitely a great person, glad to call her a friend, and she has been drilling my stuff for over 5 years now. She introduced me to Liz Johnson a few years ago when I dropped by the shop to drop some balls off to be worked on. That night, there was a Christmas party about to start when I was about to leave the place. This was around the time where she rejoined Storm after being with EBI for a few seasons. Needless to say, I was invited to join both for an impromptu dinner at the table and spent a good deal of the night talking bowling among other things.
As a kid, the best 2 moments came from bowling with Richie Wolfe in Canandaigua, NY back in 1991 and then me and my dad having a coffee with Norm Duke that same year. We didn't realize we were sitting next to him in the bleachers at first, but he was very cool to talk with and probably spent a good 20 minutes with him. I also remember being super nervous to be meeting them and asking for their autographs. But, I really enjoyed it and I still have at least one of the booklets they gave everyone where I was able to get many autographs.
The one person I didn't like was Harry Sullins, who acted like a jackass the entire time. Then again, he definitely didn't make the top 5, so that's probably a good reason why that was the way it was.
Between both years I was at the pro-am, I ended up with Richie Wolfe, Norm Duke, Don Moser, WRWJ, Mike Scroggins, and I can't remember the 6th guy. Needless to say, I still remember that 20 years later means something.

No, Tommy, it's because Harry was, is, and always will be a jackass. I spent enough time around him when I bowled regionals and know this all too well.
