My observations:
Two very interesting things happened, besides Liz Johnson's great bowling.
1. Lisa Bishop converted a spare I had never seen made before:
3/6/9/10, 4/7. That was an amazing pressure shot.
2. Kelly Kullick bowled using Roto-Grip Cell after using Ebonite for
the last 8 -10 years or longer. and she bowled great.
3. Bo Burton was right about Lisa not adjusting in her 2 games until it was
almost too late. Her speed and small hook was all that allowed her to win the first game. She's really good on TV, under the lights. If she adjusted sooner, she could have won it all. She also gained a lot of weight since I last saw her
on TV in 2003 or so. She was heavy then.
4. Kelly's self talk:
a. I thought it was ironic as she kept verbalizing, "Take a small first step",
and she kept taking one almost 2 ft. long.
b. She kept telling herself, "Atta Girl!", when she threw good shots. She's
in her late 30s, for goodness sake. She needs to take a look in the mirror.
She's no "girl" anymore. And if she thinks of herself that way, which she must,
since she calls herself that, she's putting herself in a mental hole.
She had Liz on the ropes until she threw 2 balls too slow in the 7th and
the 9th frames leaving wide open splits. The way she started, stringing strikes, like she did against Bishop, I thought she had it won and that I was watching some new show. :-)
5. I felt bad for Michelle Feldman. The approach ruined her delivery. She didn't stand a chance, and yet she said nothing.
