Personal Review:
When comparing the Counter Attack Solid to the Intel Solid, both balls have very similar ball motions. The Intel Solid is more ball overall and can handle oil much better. The Intel Solid diff is higher which contribute to this. This two ball combo would be very good for when a bowler wants to start at the gutter if the patterns allows for it. As the bowler starts to migrate in chasing the transition moving to the Intel Solid would be a natural progression up.

There is little doubt that when you think of iconic Bowling balls, the #RackAttack #Solid has to be on that list. Now Lane Side Reviews takes the new version, the #COUNTERATTACK Solid to the lanes to see if it lives up the original.

Counter attack solid
I’m a left handed bowler. My balls speed is around 14 1/2 mph. My Rev Rate is around 275-300 rpm. My axis tilt is around 13 degrees. I recently purchased this ball. The layout I put in it is 60 x 4 x 40. For me this is a great layout for a house shot. This ball has a low differential to start with. Which makes this ball very clean thru the fronts and continuous on the back end. For the bowlers that don’t have a lot of revs. Like me. You will be able to keep the ball in front of you and play up the boards. For the high rev players. I believe you’ll like it also. It should allow you not have to move as deep with it. I believe this is great addition to the Radical Technologies line.

I recently bought this ball because I had heard how great the original grape Rack Attack was, and I missed out on getting one! I wasn't about to let that happen again!

I am right-handed. Normally a high tracker though due to some changes made with my approach my track has lowered quite a bit. I'm a stroker basically. My PAP is 4.25 right and .50 up. Rev rate is 275-300 or so. I throw between 13.5 and 14.5 mph.

I love this ball because it does just as it is advertised!! I used it at a recent tournament in Lebanon, PA. They laid out a flat pattern with strong backends. I struggled mightily on this shot primarily because the approaches were so tacky, and I like to slide!

Anyway, I was throwing a strong pearl in the 5th game of a 6 game block. In that game I had a decent look but I began to ping corners as the shot started to dry up. Frustrated I put down the pearl and went to the CA Solid.

Amazingly I was able to move right with this ball, close to the track! This ball was clean as a whistle going through the fronts. It read the mids where all the traffic had been just a little and then turned up, on time, into the pocket, each and every delivery I made. I was able to salvage a crap game by throwing the next 8 in-a-row!!

I was very very pleased! This ball is clean! It is made for the burn, or severely broken down lanes. It is extremely controllable! No jumpiness at all near the pocket! Just smooth as butter performance! And I believe you can get whatever reaction you want out of it with the proper layout applied!

I also believe you can have a benchmark ball with this piece if you drill it strong!
Way to go, Radical!! I love it when a plan comes together!!
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

Counter Attacks -  As this was my first dip into the “Radical” pool, I wanted to get balls that I would be able to use frequently.  Being a Senior player with a rev rate around 250 – 300, I decided that the Counter Attacks would be a good start.  Having a 2.575 RG and Diff of .023, these 2 pieces are very close to the EBI equipment I had been using for league.  Both the Solid and the Pearl utilize and updated version of the Rack Attack Core along with the respective Ai-20 covers.  Both balls were laid out identical at 70 x 4.5 x 35 making it not only easy to compare to each other but to my EBI equipment as well.
Counter Attack SOLID – The Solid provides me with the smooth rolling start through the heads which I prefer when opening up on the fresh.  The symmetrical core allowed me more versatility to adjust in regards to hand positions without effectively losing carry.  On my drier house patterns and has proven to not overreact yet is not afraid of patterns with medium oil.

I believe the cover will be receptive to any changes although I have strictly kept it “as is” with only typical lane shine and cleaning after every match use.  In the very short time I have used the Solid, the lowest match I’ve had has been 690.

If you are looking for a solid, low diff piece that has smooth motion the Counter Attack Solid is one to try.

Great ball for those drier house shots or when you need to blend out those patterns that have broken down.  I find this ball to be very smooth overall and a consistent motion.  I would not recommend drilling this ball weak unless you are very rev dominant.  This ball is a weaker core/cover combination and is meant to be drilled stronger to get that great reaction.  I play a litter farther left with this ball than my Counter Attack Pearl.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 35' Del Ballard Pattern

Volume: 27 ml -ish

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Sport Shot

Likes: The Counter Attack Solid is the perfect ball for short patterns or late in blocks when you need a smooth reacting motion. I had the opportunity to throw it on the 35' Del Ballard pattern and with this ball I was able to keep my lines in front of me and get similar coverage to my urethane but with better carry. When you get late in blocks and opening the lane is not your thing, this will be a great go to ball. It is similar in coverage to the Track Tundra Solid but maybe a hair sooner and smoother. Good ball to have in the arsenal.

Speed: 17.9
RPM: 480
PAP: 5 7/8 RT x 2 1/4 DN
No-thumb, one league per week, tournaments when I can. Tremendous slouch.

Light to medium-light volume pattern beast!

The Counter Attack Solid and Pearl follow in the footsteps of the Radical Cult favorites, the Rack Attacks. Remade but upgrading upon the originals, the Counter Attack balls feature the Ai 20 coverstock formulation, it is the same exact cover formulation used in the original Rack Attacks. The core design is very similar, we have made a few subtle changes to enhance the continuation through the pins with the Rack Attack 2 Symmetric core, making these an improved version of the original Rack Attacks. Our goal was to create a replacement to the original Rack Attacks and to increase the versatility of the Radical Technologies performance line up.

With an out of box surface of 500/1000/3000 and the core/cover combination, matched with my layout of 4.25x5.25x2.25, the Counter Attack Solid gets length and a smooth, continuous motion on medium-light volume patterns just as it’s intended by Radical Bowling Technologies. I’ve also had some good looks for lane motion on shorter sport patterns. I have better options for me to begin a night of league bowing but i have used it to start, and it’s not my A-game, but I can move to the right with my feet and targets and the Counter Attack Solid will get me the arcing, continuous motion. I just need to keep my speed consistent as sometimes I’ll sail past the breakpoint if I’m too fast.

Purple. Solid ...and with the gold lettering this ball just looks great.

Coming in at Radical Bowling Technologies ‘EZ-Use’ level, the Counter Attack Solid is exactly that ... easy to use (and SUPER AFFORDABLE!) which makes it a great option for beginner bowlers looking for that first ball when they want to learn to control a curve or for the experienced bowler looking for something special when the lanes are either beat up, you’re rolling on a short pattern or looking for a ball to play a tighter line and not overreact.

Be well, rip racks ...and shred pins.
