Ball is everything Radical said it would be, I wanted a ball to go long and make a hard move of the pattern, used a 75,6,25 layout, the ball just never quits

I didn’t quite know what to expect out of the Ridiculous Asym when I set out to drill it.  Coming off the backend monster that was the original Ridiculous I was expecting another monster backend ball, and I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to like that.  I could not have been more wrong on all accounts!

I drilled my Ridiculous Asym 50x5x40 with a P3 hole.  This layout usually gives length with maximum hit.  In other words it is clean, and gets into its roll stage and goes through the pins hard.

Wow!  That is all I can say about the Ridiculous Asym.  This is one of the smoothest most controllable balls I have thrown in years!  It is clean through the fronts but very rolly off the backend.  It’s almost deceiving it's so smooth.  No matter where I play on the lane I keep expecting to see it jump off the spot, yet it always just rolls off the spot.  This ball will be a must have in my tournament and league bag for a long time to come.

The Ridiculous Asym very much reminds me of the Radical Reax V2 solid.  The V2 was a ball you could use on any pattern to control the lane, and from what I have seen, that is exactly what I get from the Ridiculous Asym.  This ball will be great for anyone that doesn’t like to see their ball hockey stick on the backend.

LANE CONDITION

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):  THS, Modified THS, Sport

COMMENTS

Likes:  I drilled mine with a pin below the middle finger and cg in palm, mb just right of the thumb.  This ball does exactly what I was wanting from a ball.  Ball is strong enough to work on a decent amount of oil, but also not too strong to use on a THS.  for me the Ridiculous Asym is very smooth and very readable on the lanes.  I can open up the lane with this ball on THS and still know that it will not jump anywhere off the dry.  I can play straighter on sport shots and also know that is will read the lanes and not jump off of the dry.  \

Drilled another one with a pin up above ring finger cg kicked out about 1 1/2 inch with a p1 weight hole and this ball still kept the smooth reaction in the mid-lane, but has a little more pop on the backend than the pin down one.  I am able to really open up a THS with this ball.  The pin up version for me works good on sport patterns after they have opened up a little.

Dislikes:  I have none!!!!!! some people might dislike this ball as it does not have the huge backend that some people like, but that is not what this ball is intended for.

Here is the newest release in the Ridiculous line, the Ridiculous Asym.  This ball uses a brand new asymmetrical core and a more aggressive cover than the original Ridiculous.   The ball comes at 4000 grit.

I drilled a first one with the pin under the ring finger and the layout is 70x4”x75 with the original box finish.  On the lane this ball reminds me the reax version 2.  Because of the asymmetrical core, it gives me an heavy roll in the midlane and a really controllable back end.  Compared to Ridiculous, I played the asym 3 boards left with my feet and 2 board left with my eyes.

I drilled a second one pin over the ring finger and the layout is 60x4”x40 and I’ve put some polish on it to give me more length.  On the lane it gave me more length and a sharper backend as expected.  The ball wasn’t as sharp as the Ridiculous  be it fills perfectly the gap between the pin under asym and the Ridiculous.  Compared to the Ridiculous I played this asym 1 board left with my feet and 1 board left with my eyes.

To conclude, this ball fits perfectly between my Gurus and the original Ridiculous.  It allows me to open up the lane.  If you are  speed dominant or wanna have controllable strong asymmetrical ball, here is you ball of choice.

That’s now more ridiculous that has ever been. The new Ridiculous Asym pushes the limits even further. With the new core design and the beefed up cover, the Ridiculous Asym is a stronger version of the original.
I was looking to drill a ball that is much controllable for short to medium pattern. 70x4.5x75 was the choice and the result is amazing. A lot of midlane roll and continuation through the pins. The first test was on the WTBA Montreal 41’ and it gives me pretty good room to miss both inside and outside. With a different layout that keeps more energy, it would be great for THS.
More midlane with even more continuation thought the pins. That’s what the Ridiculous Asym has to offer to you.

Specs: Left Handed, 15 mph, ~400 rev rate, drilled my Ridiculous Asym 45*x4x70* (PAP is 4 1/2" over, 1/2" up).  This is the same as I drilled the original Ridiculous.  This puts the pin below the bridge for me.

When I first put the Ridiculous in my hand, I found that this ball was hands down, my benchmark ball.  This ball filled such a wide area of conditions and parts of the lane I could play.  What it had some problems was when I needed just a tad more tip on the back of the lane in order to get the ball going through the pins correctly.....either the lanes were a tad on the tight side and I cannot change surface, or I needed to move in, catch some carry down, and the ball would labor down lane.  Well, the Ridiculous Asym fixed this issue.  The Asym is everything the Ridiculous is, and then some!
Not only does this ball look phenomenal going down the lane, but it is also a wonderful fit between my Rave series and my Primo series bowling balls.
This is the thing I love about Radical Bowling Technologies arsenal.  Always releasing bowling balls to fill a gap....not just releasing a ball in order to put a check in the box so they can say "yep, we had a release this month too".

I have found myself starting with the Ridiculous Asym, and playing the lanes a bit more to the right with my feet.  When I start getting too deep, I can now make ball changes in reverse....ball down to the Ridiculous and get a cleaner read through the fronts and continued through the back of the lane.

Another example might be when my Primo solid is too much and I need to cheat a bit back left and have something that gives me less angle, I grab the Ridiculous Asym and boom time....back in the saddle!

Likes: I have loved solids when they come straight from the manufacturer,(polished). I use my similar layout to compare all Radical equipment with. this is a 45 x 4 3/4 x 70 , hole down 7/8 bit 2 1/2 deep. All comparisons have been left with the box finish just as my Ridiculous. The Asym as I see has an over all stronger motion . Still clean through the fronts , but with an earlier start up and stronger continuation down lane and through the pin deck. This ball allows me to get a bit more left and open up more right with excellent recovery as compared to the original . this ball has been very predictable .

The Radical Ridiculous Asym is the big brother to the Radical Ridiculous.  The Ridiculous Asym is just as clean through the fronts, but starts to roll earlier in the midlane and has more continuous angle in the backend.  I laid mine out to roll through the entire lane so i can use it on more flatter sport shots, and it has not let me down.  The Ridiculous Asym is a ball you will not regret getting in your arsenal.

I really like my original Ridiculous (pin down, slightly sanded) as a middle of the bag piece that has been a playable option on everything that tournaments have brought my way and wanted a stronger option.  I laid out my Asym 60x4.5x40 (pin over ring) to give me a strong roll in the midlane and cut the surface down to 3k for some extra traction.
I've used the Asym on a number of patterns including 37' Broadway and 39' Middle Road where I had surprisingly good looks going from 3rd arrow to nearly the gutter by heavily reading the midlane and being arcy on the backend.  Surprisingly, my most forgiving misses were outside of target, where the ball consistently rounded the corner without over reading the friction.

However, this ball has been my best look on 43' Dead Man's Curve.  Its a 3-1 sport pattern, which often transitions favorably as most bowlers start at 3 arrow with surface, then creeping left, eventually creating a hook spot in the midlane around 11-12.  At our centre the ideal play is to create smooth angles and stay just ahead of the transition by cheating a couple boards ahead of everybody else on your pair.  My other solid asyms (Grudge, Nirvana) are too strong on this pattern, forcing me too far left to see the ridge, while the Ridiculous Asym gives me enough length to not eat heads, while giving me a very strong midlane read, allowing me to maximize the forgiveness that appears in the midlane.

The Ridiculous Asym gives me an above average amount of hook comparable to my Melee Hook, but with a smoother, medium response to friction.  This ball is 2-3 boards stronger than the original Ridiculous all due to the strength of the cover, while being about 3 boards less than my Grudge and Nirvana.  The Ridiculous Asym is a welcome addition to my tournament bag that will give me a very effective yet unique early, continuous roll on a wide range of medium - medium/heavy lane patterns.
