You wanted it, you needed it, you asked for it and you even dreamed about it! That’s anything but RIDICULOUS! The new Radical Ridiculous is what every bowlers want in a ball: length, versatility, control and BACKEND! That ball is one for the ages. With the finger scoop technology, the Ridiculous will provide a lot of drilling option to fit your game and your need.

That kind of ball was missing in my arsenal since I drop, with regrets afterward, my Yeti Untamed. I was looking for a strong, solid coverstock, symmetric ball and I found the one! The second I saw it my idea was made for the drilling: 50x4.75x70. The reason behind that choice, complement my Primo. These two balls are a great 1-2 punch. The second I need a bit more pop at the back of the lane, the Ridiculous is the first ball out of my bag. I can say that I have 2 benchmark balls: Primo and Ridiculous. Like any Radical ball, the Ridiculous is very surface-adjustment friendly. Don’t be afraid to hit it with 4 even 2k pad to adjust the length or overall hook of your ball. Mine is at 4000 and it hits like a truck. Pin carry isn’t a problem with that ball.

Available since October 27th, the Radical Ridiculous is worth seeing if you are looking for whether a benchmark ball, a fit in your arsenal or a ball to start with. You’ll not regret it. That’s RIDICULOUSly RADICAL!

Specs: Left Handed, 15 mph, ~400 rev rate, drilled my Ridiculous 45*x4x70* (PAP is 4 1/2" over, 1/2" up
Within the Radical line, this ball has filled a great spot, mid range solid to compliment the Primo.
I don't often say this, because it can be cliche....but this ball has instantly become my benchmark.  Read my other reviews, I don't think I have said this about a single ball yet.  I bowl on a variety house and tournament patterns, closed angles on tighter patterns and open angles when friction is higher, this ball is a gem.
An example would be when my Rave is not able to maintain energy on the back of the lane, I am able to move to my Ridiculous chase a couple boards right and maintain the look at the pocket.  I truly do not know where to start with all the good qualities about this ball, this is truly a special mix of core & cover working together to accomplish all the right things from various angles on various lane surfaces.
Please shoot me an email if you have any questions about the Ridiculous or any other Radical Bowling Technology ball, chrisheringer@gmail.com

The Radical Ridiculous does live up to it's name with a ridiculous backend motion. This is the most angular symmetrical core ball that Radical has made to date. With the black coverstock, it will allow you to read the ball motion easier to make the adjustments necessary to strike. It works really well on medium oil patterns and when you need that skid / snap reaction with a solid coverstock. Even with a Skid / Snap reaction, it still has enough energy to carry the 10 pin and drive through the pins. I have used this ball in league on an THS and it allows me to play a little farther to the right with my angles closed down but still have plenty of downlane motion. I have also used this on a 38 foot sport pattern which allowed me to stay farther right but still have continuation. As the lanes broke down, I was able to open up my angles a little and still have that strong recovery down lane. It takes well to changes to the coverstock to give you an earlier read compared to the box condition. Also, it would be a good benchmark ball to give you a good read to see how much friction is downlane.

Radical Ridiculous

Bowler’s Stats:
Speed: 18.5-19 mph
Rev Rate: 425-450 rpm
Axis Rotation: 30-60 degrees
Axis Tilt: 5-7 degrees
Ball Layout: 45* by 5.5” by 45*

Radical’s philosophy on most of their products is to cater to the reactions most needed by bowlers. For most bowlers on house shots, that means strong while remaining angular and versatile. The Ridiculous pushes Radical’s territory in angularity to new lengths while preserving ease of use. The layout above was used to make the most out of what this ball is supposed to be – a house shot killer.

On one of my local houses I’ve been struggling at, the Ridiculous gave me a new look and more miss room than most of my other equipment. My strong equipment is too over-under on the fresh and too strong after a game or so anyway. The weaker stuff leads to odd carry issues in this house even if the over-under is controlled. The Ridiculous for me is the best of both worlds because I can start with a ball that I know is going to read well and recover and this stay with that ball throughout the night as I creep inside.  Most importantly, I’ve noticed my Ridiculous is keeping pins very low at this house compared to other balls which we all know helps with carry percentage (almost like “trucking through pins” instead of “blowing the rack up”).

I imagine the Ridiculous would work wonders for almost all house shot bowlers. It’s angular yet versatile reaction allows you to trust and stay with the ball longer throughout the night.

Here is the new addition in the Radical bowling technologies family, the Ridicoulus.  For  this ball they used a new core and a new coverstock.  They wanted to impact backend reaction the way the Gurus impacted to hook dimension of the game.

I punched the Ridiculous the same way I punched the Primo,  55 X 4” X 75.

On the lane, the Ridiculous gives me more length and backend than the Primo.  I had to move 1 and 1 right compared to my Primo.  The Ridiculous is cleaner through the heads and make a sharper turn on the backend.  If you wanna have a bigger backend, you can use a Motion Hole layout.  By doing so, you’ll kick up the differential and gain at least 2 or 3 boards of backend.

Like all the other Radical balls, the cover can be changed easily.  For people with more speed, you take the surface down to a 1000 grit or even 500 grit and the ball will still recovers great.  For people with lower ball speed, you can put some extra shine on it.  By doing it, you add some feet on the length of the ball and it makes a sharper turn.

To conclude, the Ridiculous has the most backend in my bag!  If you want to have a clean ball and the big backend, don’t hesitate anymore.  The backend of this ball is Ridiculous!!

I drilled the Ridiculous specifically for third game league action and later in block for tournaments.  I liked what I saw so much, a week later I had to put holes in a second one.  The first one I drilled pin up with a 60X5X40 layout and a small hole down the VAL.  This one was left at box.  The second one is 65X4.5X75 which puts the pin under my middle finger and the hole down the VAL and I made the surface 2000.  The way these two balls compliment each other is amazing.  On the fresh the pin down is just smooth enough not to do tricks, but has plenty of power to carry.  As soon as I see a few too may half 10’s I go to the pin up and make a slight move left with the feet and right with the eyes, and it is back to striking.  There is nothing better than missing by a few to the right and when it comes back and strikes looking at your opponent and saying that is ridiculous!

Likes: What is there not to like with the Ridiculous!!!! This is a great symmetrical ball. The ridiculous is the newest addition in the Reliable line, new core with the finger scoop technology and new cover. Radical wanted a ball to resemble the hook that the Guru's have but with this price point.

I drilled 2 of them, first with a drill of 45x5.25x30. I added a little polish and the ball goes long and finishes hard. The ball just never quits on the backend. When it hits the dry boards it just turns left (for a righty) just as if you kicked it left.

The second one was drilled 50x4x65, I left it out of the box and it is a lot more tame, but finishes quite well. There's about 3-4 boards difference between the 2 balls.

If you're looking for hook in a box, you'll get it here!!! Great technology, great performance for your game!!

The newest release by Radical is the Ridiculous. This ball was designed with a new core and coverstock. It is super clean throughout the front part of the lane with a great mid lane and continuous back end. This can be very comparable to the previous DV8 Dude. It works really well on medium oil patterns and when you need that skid / snap reaction with a solid coverstock. Even with a Skid / Snap reaction, it still has enough energy to carry the 10 pin and drive through the pins. In conclusion, this ball will give the read on the lane that you need late in the day when the lanes open up and graudally move inside as well. It is by far the benchmark ball for Radical. You need this one in your bag.

Just got this bad boy drilled up Saturday and have been very impressed with it so far, first night in league shot 792 with this ball as it gave me very smooth controllable roll through the front and mid-lane with some pop on the backend still. I drill this ball pin down under ring finger with a small balance hole as I was looking for something to replace my DV8 Dude for a super smooth rolling ball and this has filled the spot. Plenty of success at the regional and tour level with this ball right now and it should be a must have in your bag for a benchmark ball.

This ball is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!  For the first time, Radical has released a mid-range ball that has both versatility and hitting power.  The pin up drilling will allow it to clear the fronts and make a ridiculous backend motion, while the pin down option gives control with still enough pop off the spot to crush racks.  If you haven't tried Radical equipment, this would be a great introduction.

If you're looking for a skid/flippy solid, look no further.  This ball is so easy through the fronts, I've thrown it on a variety of patterns and have yet to see it make it's move too soon.  When it does, though, look out.  Stores it's energy very well and drives hard through the pins.

Sometimes with flippy balls you give up a bit of controllability, but not with this ball, I always feel I know where it's headed.  A huge thumbs up for the developers, this is a big winner and I'll have it in my bag for a long time to come.

Likes:  I drill my Ridiculous using dual angle of 65x4x35.  This ball is very clean through the heads and through the mid-lane with strong motion to the pocket and continuous motion through the pins.  This is my go-to ball since it is very easy to get a read on the transition of the pattern which makes it very easy to make moves and ball changes.

The Radical Ridiculous is the best benchmark ball in the Radical line to date.  The Ridiculous is so versatile it can pretty much be thrown on a variety of oil conditions, it's clean and very smooth off the transition in the backend.  I laid mine out to roll early in the midlane but store and keep its energy to continue in the backend through the pins.  This ball is a MUST in every arsenal because it will give you the motion you have all been looking for.

When I first heard about this ball, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.  The ball has exceeded my expectations.  I went with one of my favorite layouts (Pin in Ring / CG about 3/4 right of centerline).  The Ridiculous clears the front part of the lane with ease with a VERY strong move off the spot.  I feel like I can bring this ball back from anywhere on the lane.  Unlike most angular balls I have thrown, the Ridiculous is still very predictable and has proven to be versatile on a wide range of conditions.  This ball is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites.

Radical Ridiculous (http://radicalbowling.com/balls/ridiculous)
40x4x40 (1500 Abralon)

Personal Stats:
400-450 RPM
18-20 MPH
PAP - 5 5/8" over, 1" up
Axis Tilt - Estimated 8-12 Degrees
Current League Average: 238

Intended Use:
With the 40x4x40 layout, I was looking for a smooth, controllable symmetric motion that allows me to get left but not have a big "jerk" off the spot.

Reaction:
At OOB surface, I had a little bit of over/under. The natural characteristics of the ball were to be angular, but the layout wasn't complementing that. I hit it with 1500 and WOW. This ball became a great strong motion that's still fairly clean up front for having a decent amount of surface.

Overall:
Took a surface adjustment, but this ball definitely has a place in my bag now. It's a close comparison to the Melee Hook in overall hook, but cleaner up front and more downlane.

Likes: This ball to me is a kind of benchmark ball ,a good all arounder. it is not to squirty , it is clean through the fronts and reads the mids very nicely. The layout is the same as my other comparisons. 45 x 4 3/4 x 70.... hole down on val 1 inch bit 2 1/2 deep. I used the ball as an out of the box finish. To me I find this very strong arcing and continuous through the deck .It kept the pins low . This gave me a little bit more room for error as compared to some other balls. With this layout of course I could not get real deep and stray the break point . I liked this ball a lot I drilled a second one to be a little stronger at the backs . This ia a pin up layout 65 x 5 x 30 no balance hole box finish as well. This provided me with more length and a stronger motion at the backs . This now allowed me a little bit more "openness" at the backends.
