Title: First Night With Radical Score
Post by: MrNattyBoh on February 19, 2015, 08:16:16 AM
Well, i had a Score drilled up last night. My intentions were to have a similar ball motion as my Blue Ringer but a bit stronger overall. This is exactly what i got, a ball that is smooth, clears the front, good mid lane read with great continuation. First game i started with the first 6 then a few operator errors and ended with 231. Next game, after getting my timing straightened out, smashed the hole for 11 out of 12 for 279(left a 9 pin in the 4th). Last game I should have moved a little deeper inside than where i went and ended with 222. I had only one open which was the only multi pin spare i left on the night. Ended up with 732 on the night. Its the first time i can remember that i had 700+ right out of the box with any ball. This ball is going to be in my bag for a long time.......

Nice match to start with a ball. Score is good. Now shoot 300/800 with it to make some dough!!

I've heard nothing but good things about the Score. I'm wondering, though, is it a viable piece on tournament shots? It's one of the few Radical pieces I've not seen many use.

My opinion on the Score is the ball is essentially a tamed down Black Reax that is more user friendly and adaptable to more patterns for a variety of bowlers. If you look at Radical's site, the description for the Score is the Reax Core, and they do have the same core numbers as well, but with a different cover. The cover is milder to allow the ball to play on a wider variety of conditions than the original Black Reax would allow. Not an oil monster, not a dry lane ball, but anything in between and the ball is $$.

I have a fresh Black Reax I use and it is much more ball than the Score with similar strength drills patterns.

WOWZERS!

Congrats on the strong opening set. It's always fun to bag a big score right out of the box! My only 800 to date came the first night I used a particular ball. In any case, great shooting; I haven't bagged any Radical stuff yet, but I'm loving the Brunswick and DV8 pieces I have. I may have to put a Radical piece in there before too long!

Congrats and great shooting. I'm drilling up a Score when I get to the shop this week. I'm seeing that I need a piece that is smoother and can be used as a benchmark piece in the bag. I have had my eye on it for sometime, but didn't see a lot of people talk about it as much. The people I have spoken with (Laneside Reviews Rob Johnson) spoke highly of it. Great bowling and keep ten in the pit! :-)
