The same with my original Reax; strickly a tournament ball, and even then it doesn't get much usage simply because of the strength of the cover. I'm thinking of drilling up the original Yeti simply because 1). It looks like an amazing ball & 2). I want to be able to throw Radical equipment on a more consistent basis!
My "top end" spots of my arsenal are filled by the Reax (pin directly under my ring finger, cg/mb kicked out at a 45degree angle-- nearly a double thumb drilling, but we tweaked the numbers a bit so it isn't a "true" DT drill) and also the original Nexus solid (ugle pink/purple thing). Nexus has the pin over my ring finger, about an inch up and to the right; cover is at 1000 abralon.
With the difference in layouts (pin up/pin down) and coverstock grit (Reax is at box finish, with just a slight 2k abralon pad applied by hand), it feels like I can tackle most tough tourney conditions and higher volume shots with these two balls. Because I am more speed dominant (rather than rev dom) one more symmetrical solid cover may be in store for me in the near future.
I see the Yeti as something stronger than my Victory Road Solid (at 2k grit, plus Quick Kut, and then Motiv bowling ball Polish) which is a ball that often goes on the road with me; the VRS is strong and quick off the spot, much like the Yeti (major difference being that the Yeti is pearl) in overall ball motion.
Love the Radical company; I'd love to try/test everything that they produce but sadly that isn't the case at this point. I am considering one of the Torrid's for "lower" in my arsenal (later in the tourney set/block-- dryer house conditions), and I want to drill up a Yeti just for the heck of it. Would probably fit in some place near my VRS, 503t, or Nano Pearl with pin down layout
