Title: jackpot and xeno pearl
Post by: xrayjay on February 07, 2017, 04:46:37 PM
I have my first Radical in the Rave and I'm enjoying it. Where would the Jackpot and Xeno Pearl fit with the rave?

thanks

The Jackpot would be a step up from the Rave. And the Xeno Pearl would be a step up from the Jackpot. Take a look at the numbers for the balls:

Rave:        RG - 2.522, Diff - 0.049
Jackpot:     RG - 2.573, Diff - 0.056
Xeno Pearl: RG - 2.508, Diff - 0.048, Int Diff 0.016

They all have similar Differential numbers, but the RG values are different and they have different coverstock formulas which make them have different motions. The Xeno Pearl has the lowest RG of the 3 which would tend to start a little earlier. The Jackpot has the highest RG of the 3 which would create more length.

That 2.573 RG for the Jackpot is the max not the min. The latter is 2.517. Regardless, from what I've seen and heard those three balls do stack pretty well. Xeno Pearl being the strongest, Jackpot in the middle, and the Rave on the bottom.

I'm hoping the Rave really fits in that light/medium to medium volume area at least. Should be just the spot to fill in my bag when needed.

I use the rave in second shift at one house and medium at another house. For the 2nd shift league I can use the Rave for a game and half. Then I'll be moving deeper close to the 4th arrow, but when I get here, I get over under. Most likely it's me or a different surface - it's at box. I switch to the urethane and go up the track and score again.

At the other house medium shorter than 40' with no hold - not a league pattern, the Rave is not too jumpy. Goes down clean and it will grab at the dry and move fast left. Not sharply, but it'll move hard left then get into a powerful roll.

I love how the balls is just very clean and the motion during transition is very pretty lol. The way it hits and goes through the pins is very impressive. Because of this, I want to try another radical. The Jackpot is on cheap at buddies and I like to buy clearance, especially when trying a new brand. If the Jackpot is as good as the Rave, I'll get another Radical during the summer.

Yeah, I noticed the Jackpot was at a pretty good price too. Almost went with that over the Rave but I'm going to need something towards the lower end in the near future before the medium-high portion. If it goes even lower in a couple months or so I'll jump on it for sure though. No more release/retail prices for me.

I drilled my Rave with the pin beside my ring finger, label leverage and it really turned the corner. My Jackpot was pin above my ring finger and it was very angular as well. Great rolling equipment and you can't go wrong. Just my $.02, Bruce

My Jackpot surprised me from day one.  Once it found friction it turned LEFT!

I have been quite impressed with the recovery of my Jackpot as well.  It carries about as well as any ball I have thrown from inside lines.  It doesn't seem to easily push too far down that lane - which I think helps.
