I just preordered this ball, anyone else super excited for this ball? I was about to pull the trigger on the Katana and this was announced.

Not at all excited, if u only bowl league, then get the Katana, This ball will sit in your bag on league night.
-
I bowl in a lot of different things in addition to league, I am getting into more challenge and sport pattern tournaments. I have noticed my biggest struggle is always the wet/dry after game 1.
-
Then the Intel would be a much better choice for u

interesting, I figured I would need something more angular for moving in and chopping away at the wet/dry.
-
No u need something smoother, that is not as fast response to friction
-
Went with the Honey Badger as my left turn ball as its 2 piece. Katanas can handle more oil but if need more angle on oil use my Fire or Black Quantums. That Intel ball does look sweet. A similar ball that is not as angular but awesome for blending out wet and dry in the same family is the Magnitude 035 and its great for flat patterns as well.

weird my fire goes waaaay to long when you move in, low rev bowler with no tilt. My track is usually just over my thumbhole, and can sometimes hear me rolling over it.

That's not necessarily true. I've had better luck going to a stronger ball and moving inside faster. I think too many people have play right and straight with a smooth ball too ingrained in their mind

Yeah then I suppose it makes sense to use a strong asym and move inside. Actually when I need to do that on high volume I use my More Cash with some compound to make it even sharper. For being a non pearl that ball has some impressive backend as well and loves the oil (plus can get pretty cheap now I think). Heard good things about the Katana as well.

Tried out the Slash at a pro shop demo over the weekend. That ball can cover some serious territory down the lane!

threw the slash today at a demo day, and yes it does cover some boards down lane. Very strong, continuous ball thru the pins. The Intel is a really nice smooth ball. Had fun with both. 9 new entries from Big B/DV8/Radical on the way.
