Title: Pin Down Cash
Post by: storybook123 on April 10, 2018, 01:59:15 PM
One of my buddies has a Pin Down Cash, and he said this ball doesn't move at all. He normally bowled on THS, but over the weekend we bowled on White Pattern number 2. We expected that the ball would hook a lot more than it did. What surface change would you make on it? Or with its pin down nature, should he get it plugged and get it pin up?

It sounds like the ball might be "burning up" with the pin down drilling and box surface. I would suggest that he change the surface to 3000 or 4000 to see if it can retain a little more energy. If it still doesn't have a better reaction, then he might want to try 2000 and compound.

Thank you! I will try that tonight for him

Stats say otherwise but swear the Green Quantum is a ton stronger than the More Cash .  Haven't been able to match up with the More Cash at all or get it to move much at all regardless of conditions or surface.  Its also supposed to be more versatile than The Cash too.

Just as an aside got so disgruntled with my More Cash that I decided to take it up to 5000 polished and just for kicks put a layer of Turtle Wax on it (warning requires decent resurface to get legal again).  Wow did that ball come alive and threw a 250 with it practicing.  Had some over under in the second game so not quite as high but was still impressed.  Don't listen to BTM or other reviews.  The Cash and More Cash are probably going to burn up on house shot for virtually any bowler unless extreme surface measures are taken or a very mild layout used as rollout is usually not a problem for me.

I have a Cash with the pin to the right of the ring finger.  2 3/4 pin to PAP, MB to the right of the thumb.  The ball does not move like I had hoped.  Not burning up and rolling forward, just doesn't do much.  Tried a bunch of different surfaces too. A higher grit made it respond better off of the friction but I have plenty of other balls that look better.  Duller and it was just earlier but still pukey on the back end.  I was really hoping it would be a ball that I could see some motion on heavier conditions when other stuff won't move.  It isn't that at all.   I put a weight hole on the PSA and the ball actually had a lot better shape and motion.  Since weight holes will be illegal in a couple of years, I would say to go with a longer pin to PAP, pin up drilling.
