Title: PRIMO SOLID
Post by: wonderbread2 on January 30, 2016, 02:53:17 PM
i drilled out a solid the same way my original was drilled 45 x 5 3/4 x 45.in my house the original was awesome. it put the pin on my negative side which i have never done and i absolutely love the ball. i did however want a little more out of it on heavier volumes so i got the solid..to be truly honest i don't think the volume I'm bowling on is enough for the solid. its good for warm ups and maybe the first 6 boxes of league. and then when i move in to get to heavier oil, i don't have the hand to kick the ten pin out , I've tried surface changes and I'm not giving up on it yet hopefully ill find a match for it .. I've even tried a p4 hole added to it which it did help but not quite enough.i still like the ball i just cant wait to get it on heavier volumes for where i like to play so i can see how different it is from the original

As a huge fan of the Radical Yeti Unleashed, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Primo Solid.  For me, the Primo Solid has a similar motion to the Yeti Unleashed with a little more length and a lot more continuation.  When the original Primo isn't quite enough, the Primo Solid gives me a good bit more traction handling heavier volumes of oil with ease.  So far, the cover has proven to be very versatile, responding very well to surface adjustments.  I went with one of my favorite layouts (Pin under MF which puts it about 5.5" from my axis).  This layout keeps the Primo Solid in play on a wider range of conditions for me and also allows me to blend the wet / dry house patterns in the area.

Wonderbread,

The P4 is going to make the ball even stronger, so if trying to get it down further on a House pattern that would not have been the best way. Waybe give it less surfacec 3K or 4K and watch it perform better for you.

I have Yeti unleashed, great ball. Is there enough seperation to warrant having a primo solid? i have the Unleashed drill pin above the ring finger. I was hoping that the primo solid will get down the lane futher and handle a little less oil. Thanks

Most likely the Primo Solid will not hook less than the Yeti Unleashed.  the original Primo or a Solid Drilled a bit weaker and a cover tweak will do the trick.
Thanks for the support

Thanks a lot. I think I'll look into getting a primo and drilling it weak.

A good starting ball for Reno perhaps?
