Title: Pullin the trigger on a HD.
Post by: Impending Doom on December 26, 2012, 09:32:58 AM
I think I am going to get me a HD and Torrid at tax time. Going to pick up a Cobra SE, Look, and Black Eagle as well. Im using 900/AMF now, and was looking for some comparisons to Global and AMF equipment.

Thank you!

I think you'll like the Cobra not sure exactly where you like to play doom but for me it has been a lifesaver the last few weeks we did a Christmas Eve sweeper and that was the only ball that ended up coming out of my bag after practice. oh by the way the pattern was Highway to Hell

I like to play where I can knock down the most pins. :)

The Torrid is an excellent ball for THS, can be used most anywhere. The HD you better find some oil, it is the strongest pure pearl I have thrown with a ton on back end, depending on the drilling it can be rather flippy.

Of course. Torrid is a heat! I might drill the HD like my Banks to compare them

I tried it a few weeks ago on fresh oil, recently refinished wood with medium oil 41ft THS is was overwhelming strong, fought it for 2 games and ended up in the left gutter after 2nd game, retired it to the bag for the night. Used it again on 4 yr old Anvil's true medium 22 ml over 42 ft pattern it was more controllable but again third game it wanted to run away, I was left of the track area the entire night a considerable amount, it will come home from most anywhere !!!!

Nice! Maybe ill go with a longer pin to pap than my Banks to really see that hockey stick reaction. Or maybe to 50x5.5.x65, where my Banks are 65x4.5x40. Torrid is going to be 70x5x35, just like my Heat!

I would put mine closest to the S75, it out hooked the Critical theory I had. I'm sure with some surface it would right there with the Break. Strong midlane with an angular backend, not hockey stick though. Its probably about a 4" pin to PAP.
