Radical Bowling Coverstocks
« on: April 30, 2013, 11:50:13 AM »
Guys
Just an interesting point, since I have switched the brand over to Brunswick Manufacturing I have noticed a tremendous difference in the performance of the cover stock and the response time to the dry part of the lane. I have also raised my average nearly 5 points since January. That's pretty significant considering how many games we bowl nothing about my game has changed just my carry percentage has gone up significantly. One league is 44 weeks and the other is 40 weeks.
From what I know from experience with a few ball companies the Brunswick formulas are now tops in the industry. This is not a commercial for the Brunswick resins just an update on what I see.
Recovery and continuation is the most obvious, but most surprising is the predictability I can get when putting a core and cover combination together to launch a new product. Our options are nearly limitless. Wait till you see what we are doing next. This is going to be crazy good!!!!!

My dad and my own Reax's are dead already..  The Yeti is out hooking his Reax by a ton.  My Reax looks like it wants to turn, but does nothing..   Very disappointing..  I LOVED the ball out of the box..  I only have about 15 games on it and clean it after every set.  Also have gone back to the 500-1500 OOB surface..    My dad's Yeti rolls amazing..

Wow, anyone else experience this with the Reax ?  Was just about to order one for Nationals, but do not want one that will last only 15 games....

Just like with every high performance ball, cleaning after each use is a must since Coverstock is so soft and porous. Every high performance solid ball will do this if proper maintenance isn't used, not saying that's the case in your part, but from what I've seen or experienced, if you don't clean after every set, that will happen. Look at the Widow when it first came out and everyone was saying the same thing and you have others saying it still hooks the same as it was new.

Yep, understood. The poster said that he and his father cleaned after every set..  I just wanted to make sure that this was not something that others are experiencing that are also cleaning regularly..  Thanks for your reply.

Just a reminder...cleaning should be immediately after bowling.....not the following week before league starts...

Was recently at our state tournament.  I only saw a handful of people cleaning equipment.  100% were cleaning just prior to going out on the lanes!  Saw no one clean after their set....  Technically, this still would be considered cleaning after a set...

Not suggesting this is what happened...just throwing it out.

Can't tell you how many times I've noticed that and suggested that the oil has already been absorbed by the time they clean it. and the type of reply I get is, "this is the way I do things".

Umm... you sure the ball isn't burning up? If your Yeti is outhooking your Reax, chances are that you are not seeing enough oil. Possible?

I also noticed a decline in my Reax's reaction. I've only got 3 sets with mine (cleaned after each) and it has definitely lost some of it's strength. When I got it, it was the perfect stronger compliment to my gamebreaker, now it's very similar. I even had them restore the surface back to box in Reno, but it is noticeably longer.  Good thing I had my red Nexxus with me.
