Title: Radical Katana Assault WWRD 01/27/2023
Post by: Juan Fonseca on January 05, 2023, 03:13:13 PM
Radical Katana Assault     @15 lbs  2.501  .051  .020   DynamiCore HK22
WWRD 01/27/2023  14-16 lbs.
Radical fans have been asking about the Katana; one of the biggest selling balls from the brand. It was the biggest backend ball Radical has ever made. So, what happens if they add a flip block AND use the HK22 Formulation? The Katana Assault will be the biggest skid/flip to date out of the Radical offices. The Smoke/Black/Blue color combo is finished at 500, 1000, 1500 Siaair with Crown Factory Compound on this Top Shelf ball. Check out the videos online coming soon!

Ok, so they advertise it as a "big flip" ball. I wonder how it compares to the Columbia Top Speed (a pearl). Same HK22 cover. Any idea?

It's not the same cover. HK22 is a base formula

The best way I've been able to explain it to people, is imagine if Storm advertised their balls starting with Reactor base. (I don't know, I'm not saying they do, just a hypothetical explanation) You still get to R2S/X, R3S, NRG, etc... with the Reactor base.

Ok thanks. Buying a ball today can be crazy confusing.

@DrBob806 -  I have been looking around also for a new Asym. Pearl and then I started seeing some videos about this new coverstock the HK22 and Wow that brings a whole new dynamic to bowling balls.

I have seen many of that guys videos with the coverstock the HK22 and I still am very confused with what to get, LOL.

In his videos where he has put the Hammer - Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid even he was amazed at the way the ball comes back from the deepest areas, although I am looking for a Pearl but if I wasnt I would jump on that ball.

Those Pearl Asym. with the HK22 are impressive and the house where I go our league is probably a little dryer than most so I have to take that into consideration. So far I really like the  Columbia 300 - Top Speed and the Ebonite - Envision Pearl but I'm still looking. Good Luck with your choice!

Thanks. Yes, a couple of my team mates recently punched up that Black Widow Hybrid, and it looks very nice. I'm one of the few people on Earth who didn't love the Black Widow line, for me it just didn't match up but I'm intriuged byt this one.

I think (still thinking lol) that I've narrowed it down to the Outer Limits or Top Speed. I rolled a Top Speed at a ball demo and it was great. I have a Crypto, which I love, and I'm thinking the Outer Limits would be a good choice to step down to once the Crypto starts checking up to early. I should have a purchase within a couple weeks (my Tuesday league ends next week, so some of my prize money will go into a new weapon).
