Title: Sanded Yeti Uncaged close to an Unleashed?

How close would a sanded Yeti Uncaged be to the Yeti Unleashed?  I wanted an Unleashed but the proshop drilled up an Uncaged.  What surface will get the Uncaged as close as possible to the reaction of the Unleashed. Is it possible or are the covers just too different?  What differences will there be between the two?

Sorry for not providing my opinion about your question. If you wanted an Unleashed and you asked for that but they drilled you a Uncaged instead, the pro shop should eat the Uncaged due to being their mistake and they should drill you an Unleashed without any questions asked.

I understand that will be most people's response. I was buying these balls for my dad's birthday and we had waited a month to get balls with the right specs and get them drilled. I sat with the driller as I told him what layouts we wanted on each ball and he laid them out.. I didn't even realize it was the wrong Yeti until after they were drilled. Maybe I should have noticed. Maybe I'm too nice. I don't know.

To answer the original question... I'm not sure how close it'll get. The best surface choice would be 1000 or 2000

Even if you sand it, wouldn't the projection additive make it go longer anyway?

Depend on the marketing vs reality.. I'm pretty sure some companies use the same exact covers and just change surfaces and call it a new coverstock. This cover is pearl but now adays pearl covers can be just as going as solids.. I'm basically trying to figure out what the case is for the yeti.

Unfortunately our covers are totally different. We use a friction additive in the unleashed and a projection additive in the uncaged. We rely on chemical friction to get our ball motion, other companies use mechanical friction to get ball motion. Chemical friction means the molecular structure of the cover has the desired friction from the chemical bond created by the polymers and the additives. Sanding it will not alter the chemical friction thus you would simply create a fresh surface of the same friction we designed the cover to have.
