Title: StepDown Ball from Yeti Untamed
Post by: howler031 on March 06, 2014, 08:52:03 AM
First off, I can't say enough good things about the Untamed, fantastic on house shots.  Mine's drilled with the pin beside the ring finger (the medium revving continuation drilling).  Typically playing a 15 out to 7 type of line with great success.  My question is would the grease monkey with a similar drilling be a good step down ball or would it be too similar?  I've got a pin down Torrid Elite that is great for playing outside when I can but I can't stay inside with it and have it make the corner hard enough.  Thoughts?

Oh, and way to go Radical!  I'm impressed.  No one else on my league is throwing Radical equipment, but my pieces are starting to get some looks from the teams I'm bowling.  Keep up the great work.

Grease Monkey or the original Yeti. If you like the motion of the Elite but need just a little more backend to move inside I'd go with the Grease Monkey drilled the same as your Untamed

Without knowing your complete set of specs and the type of lanes and oil you see regularly, I can only guess at a ball choice. It seems to me that you have 3 obvious choices in the Radical line. Each will have their own strengths as well as shortcomings...your pro shop guy should be able to help you with the choice.

IMO you are looking at either the original Yeti, the Torrid Affair or the Grease Monkey. Personally I would lean toward the Torrid Affair because the ball is so incredibly versatile but who could argue with the other 2 options? Lol

Grease Monkey
Finger Notch core. Lay it out the same as your Untamed and continue striking
