Title: Yeti Unleashed may be the strongest symmetrical ball....
Post by: newguy on March 14, 2014, 12:54:08 PM
Our testing against several symmetrical balls on the market have shown the Unleashed to be the strongest and most continuous symmetrical ball available on the market.

The cover ranges is about 10 boards meaning hitting it with 4000 decreased the overall hook by about 5 boards and hitting it with 1000 added about 5 boards of hook.

The scoop core of the Yeti is the most drilling predictable ball available, pin above the finger's adds about 10 points to the diff while pin under the fingers decreases the diff by about 10 points, that's a 20 point diff swing.

Core and cover match up makes this ball very strong mid lane and very continuous, this combo makes it easy to read and easy to make adjustments on the lanes.

Wow, that's Radical

Some interesting stuff to know, thanks Phil. The Unleashed has the reaction type I'm looking for this summer, so I might just have to give Radical a try now

How does it compare to the untamed in overall strength and reaction shape? And how does it compare to an unpolished untamed at 2000 or 4000 grit? I am considering the untamed for a benchmark ball. I am slightly speed dominate, and i am trying to decide between these two

For me the Unleashed covered at least 7-8 more boards on the backend then what my untamed does playing them both on the same line.. the untamed is a much smoother ball there for you wont see it covering near as many boards as what the unleashed does.. I throw the ball over 19MPH and i have no problem getting my unleashed back to the hole even when im swinging the ball out side..  you wont be disappointed in either ball thats for sure..

The untamed would not be a good bench mark ball it is a flip motion.
Speed dominate go with the unleashed and use the untamed as a compliment.

I have the Untamed drilled 85/3.25/35 and am getting the Unleashed tomorrow. Going with 40/3.25/30.

These 2 should cover a lot of conditions!!

I prefer the Unleashed over the Untamed. I like the smoother motion of the Unleashed and Yes this ball hooks.
Been talking to a Die Hard Storm/Roto guy and got him to drill a Grease Monkey to replace his HyRoad and he loves it. Now he drilled an Unleashed and last night in league (1st time out with ball) he shoots 787 and in the first 2 games he goes front 9, front 8 leaving a 10 pin both times. His words "I'm loving me some Radical". He loves the forgiveness and smoothness of the Unleashed and is looking at drilling another one.
The Unleashed will be best midpriced ball of the year without a doubt.

Corrected had one to many thoughts going at once.

I would have considered the unleashed over the untamed without polish except it is advertised as being so strong, and I worry about it burning up. I am starting to put a little more hand in my shots, so I am not nearly as speed dominate as I use to be. I am pretty much matched now.

So how do you reconcile the two comments "Untamed is a flip motion" with the "love the smoothness of the Untamed"...

I drilled my Unleashed quite strong 40/3.25/30 p3.5.

Its an absolute beast yet its consistent and not erratic. I used on 40' fresh house shot, 38' 2nd shift house shot, and Kegel Broadway this weekend. It never stops. Hits like a tank!!

Friends were saying its the kind of roll that entices everyone to have one.

Radical is staying in my bag!!!!!

I may very well check out the unleashed. Really smooth may be what I need.

@Robert, Thanks for the reply, but I'd like to make sure which is which since I recently got a Torrid Affair and am liking it more each time I use it. So, am I right to assume then that the Unleashed is strong, picks up early, and fairly smooth by default whereby the Untamed is longer and more skid-flip? Also, sounds like the Unleashed covers more boards total?

I found that the Torrid Affair needed to get a few games on the cover before it woke up, but last week I used it in league and everyone was asking what I was throwing. Lots of positive comments about reaction and shot shape, although it was weaker than I wanted to play for my "A" game, and had to go to "B". I will say this, the $%^& thing hits like a truck and I'm throwing a 14#.

If I've read everything corectly (and please confirm), the question is now whether to buy an Untamed for league or an Unleashed for Nats next....

Yes the Untamed (Green & Black) has more of a skid/flip reaction where the Unleashed (Red & Black) is earlier and has a strong continous arc motion. If you like the hitting power of the Affair you will love the Unleashed (ball destroys racks).

I had to retire my yeti unleashed early tonight, Just after the 1st game, just didnt have enough oil to keep in the pocket even with 19.5MPH.  had a 251 after having the first 7 strikes then it was just getting out of control.. this is my 2nd 1 I have drilled up already. I threw the 2nd 1 i drilled uo which is pin down with a Double thumb drilling ( i threw it just to see how it compared to my other 1 i have pin up and kicked right) Big difference between the 2 balls thats for sure( Night and Day).  I will say it turned alot heads tonight when i started throwing it in practice and several people came down to see what ball I was throwing tonight, The ball hits like a mack truck and just throws the pins all over the place..  Great job Radical, Cant wait to see whats to come next.. already have 3 other storm bowlers wanting me to get them 1 just after watching me throw it tonight :)  whats that say  hehehe

I drilled the Unleashed Saturday and was only able to throw it a couple shots before taking it to league last night.  Our league shot is super easy in game one then changes into a terrible "wet/dry" look.  Funny thing, Unleashed was too strong in game one, even though I have been able to throw the Mastermind in game one.  A lot of flat tens.  However, I pulled the Unleashed back out in the fourth frame of game three, moved into the puddle and struck out.  It smoothed out the condition.  It was a look I had not had in the bag previously.
