My cell pearl is drilled identical to my cell solid(5 x 3 pin buffer 3", basically pin above ring finger, mass bias close to my val with a small hole on my axis.) To test the pearl I started by warming up with my solid cell(box finish)to see exactly how different they really are.  After getting lined in I switched to the cell pearl which clears the heads much easier but still makes and excellent recovery without too much skid/snap.  Moving into a deeper line with a sharper angle wasn't a problem either since the pearl has a similar trait to the original cell, IT DOESN'T STOP ROLLING!  Anyone who owns the original cell should equip themself with the cell pearl since it compliments the original beautifully with more length and amazing backend control.

Hello everyone. The Pearl Cell is going to give me a look I have not had before. With the core design we have I will be able to get my ball to read the mid lane from many angles and still have the reaction on the backends that I need to see. The ball will become one of the most multi angle, strong reacting balls on the market.

Thanks for your time and have a great year.

Drilling Pattern:  3 X 5 with weight hole

Pearl Cell…..

Hey Guys this ball is incredible straight out of the box!!!! I found that this ball works really well on the house patterns. It is very clean through the heads and can recover like no other. If you like the Cell you will find this ball amazing!!! I see it as a little longer than the cell, but with a sharper back end. Like the Cell it will crush pins when it gets to the pin deck, when you get it to the pocket it produces XXX’s. Just a note “I shot three 279 in my first two practice sessions with this ball” not too bad.

My Cell Pearl was drilled 5x3, pin below fingers with MB on the VAL.  (Pretty close to the spinners dream layout in the drilling guide.)  OOB this ball had similar characteristics to the original Cell with a little more length and extra kick on the backend.  For me this ball handles medium to medium/heavy oil OOB.  This ball handled a little more oil and carrydown than I expected.
I bowl on HPL's that have light to medium oil on a regular basis.  For this, I took the ball to 4000 with polish in hopes of getting more length.  I got an additional 5-6 feet in length and even more angularity on the backend. The only drawback was on a freshly stripped shot, this was way too strong in the backend.
As some others have stated, I believe this ball quite possibly will be more successful than the original because it will work for a larger variety of bowlers on a normal house shot.

So just when you thought things could not get any better along came the CELL PEARL.  I drilled my Cell Pearl with my pin 5 inches from my PAP with the pin located under my bridge and the mass bias at 45 degrees with a hole 1 inch passed my PAP. I find that this ball is going to be very versatile on many patterns.  The pearl really gets through the fronts very clean with good mid lane reaction and stores lots of energy to have a sharp break point down the lane.  I see a very consistent reaction with this ball.  My first night of league I rolled a 762 and was high in the house by over 40 pins and swept every scratch bracket in a 36 5 man team league.  Many of the bowlers have asked me when that ball is going to be available so I think this ball is going to be a big hit just like the original and really fills a gap between the cell and the Grand Illusion.  No bowler should leave for league or tournament without the Cell Pearl.  What will Roto Grip come up with next I can not wait to find out.

This ball confounds me to no end. One shot kills the rack, the next it deflects like plastic. It recovers from 5 on one shot, the next it skids through the breakpoint and leaves me some nasty garbage to throw at. You get the point, this ball will cause hair loss and most people will watch you in awe when you carry one. Then ask you if you changed balls a couple shots later. If you throw this ball on lanes with lightly oiled outsides then it will probably work alright, so it would probably be decent to have in typical leagues. Just dont try this ball when you have to play in and swing to an area with oil. Try an action attack or widow pearl instead. And if you have to play deep in, i wish you better luck than i had because i left more 8-10's and 7-9's (which i had never left prior to last night) than anyone could believe.

drilled my Cell Pearl with the  pin 5 inches from my PAP with the pin located over my bridge and the mass bias at 50 degrees with a hole 7/8 inch on PAP 2-½ deep.
The Same as the Original Cell,
I find the Cell Pearl  is more versatile the it brother the Original Cell on many patterns. The Cell Pearl glides  through the heads  with good clean mid lane reaction.
The Cell Pearl stores it’s  energy to produce a sharp movement  down the lane.
With a jaw rocking punch.
This ball is the ultimate compliment to the original
The Cell Pearl Produces a  very consistent reaction

On Oil Patterns medium to heavy oil with the Cell Pearl
The Results are more length. (I got an additional 3-5 feet of length )
And just as angularity on the backend with unprecedented predictability.
This is where the Original Cell shines,
Don’t Worry the Cell Pearl has the ability to produce the result you need,
With a little tweak if need the shell is very user friendly
To produce both  hook and hitting power.
On freshly stripped Lane with a short Pattern the Cell Pearl is way too strong in the backend from some.
I believe The Cell Pearl might quite possibly will be more successful than the original Cell
Over all the Cell Pearl shows a wider variable variety  from sport shot to normal house shot.
Heavy roll great continuation huge hit.
(the old version of skid roll hook) Adding Hit

I drilled the Pearl with the box layout 5 x 3, pin buffer 2" to complement a Cell solid with the same layout. On the 39' house shot, the pearl is clean through the front, has great midlane read, and reacts hard off the break point. I found the pearl to "slide" rather than "squirt"(like other pearls) off the oil when I missed inside a little.
Whereas the Cell solid may have been too strong for medium to short patterns, the Pearl fits right in to give the length needed plus retain the strong hit of the solid. Bowlers with slower ball speeds should be able to use the Pearl instead of the solid with the correct layout for their game.
If you have a Cell with a layout you like, drill a Pearl with the same layout. When the solid starts to burn up, go to the Pearl.

I drilled my Cell Pearl with a pretty unimaginative layout with the pin above the bridge and mass bias about 4 and a half from where my axis usually is. I have to say, this has been one of the most impressive balls I have thrown out of the box in a long time. It clears the front cleanly, but never seems to miss the midlane. It rolls of the spot displaying little to know wiggle, jerk or squirt on any of the conditions I've thrown this ball on. It continues through the rack as well as the original Cell, which means better than pretty much anything else ever produced. I love it as a compliment to the Cell, an inexpensive alternative to high end pearls and an all around ball for anyone not at the extremes of the ball speed/revs spectrums. Great ball and great looking ball.

GREAT BALL. GETS THROUGH THE HEADS VERY EASILY FOR SUCH A STRONG BALL. IT READS THE MIDLANE AND TURNS THE CORNER. SINCE IT GETS THROUGH THE HEADS SO EASILY IT SAVES A LOT OF ENERGY FOR THE PINS. ITS COLORS ARE PLEASING TO TO THE EYE, ITS A LITTLE BRIGHTER AND COLORFUL THAN THE ILLUSIONS, A GOOD LOOKING BALL, ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS STRINGING STRIKES. I DRILLED MINE 5X3 SO I CAN STAND A LITTLE CLOSER TO THE SPOT. THIS DRILL HOWEVER LOSES CARRY WHEN YOU GET DEEPER AND AWAY FROM THE DRY. I MAY TRY ANOTHER ONE DRILLED 4X4, BUT I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS ONE.

My first Cell Pearl is drilled 4x4 with a 3 1/2 pin buffer. The ball gets through the heads with great ease reads the mid lane very well and the last 20 feet of the lane it picks up very early in this part of the lane. I have bowled two tournaments with this ball in my bag one was a 39' pattern just not enough volume of oil for this ball the other was a longer pattern around 42' and when the lanes broke down some this ball really shines it was the reason I made the cut to match play in this tournament. I will drill at least 2 more of these balls.

Drilled 4x4 with a 2.5" pin buffer, no x-hole. OOB surface.
Tweener with med-slow ball speed, medium axis rotation and almost no axis tilt.

Mine smelled like grapes out of the box, but it's wearing off.

Good skid with a lot of cut in the midlane. Strong and certainly continuous in the back. Compared to my lightly polished Odyssey this ball is somewhat stronger in the midlane. Compared to the Cell this one gives a similar look in less oil.
I would say it's much like an Epic Saga but with more grip.

Beautiful ball, rolling this one is a pleasure.

I think this ball is stronger on the back end than any ball I have ever drilled.  I track pretty high because I spin the ball a little which causes me to get everything pretty far down the lane.  Sometimes I go passed the break point.  Not anymore. This ball really gets up on the back end.  I took the cover up to 2000 and did not add any polish, I found this to be more efective for me.  I have only used the ball for one league session so I will post more after I experiment with it some more.  But all signs point to another great ball from Roto Grip.

Cell Pearl Review

Layouts:
5 x 2 pin down no hole
5 x 5 pin up small hole inside PAP

I recently drilled 2 Cell Pearls and all I can say is wow. The CP clears the fronts considerably better the the original Cell. The high pin CP is a little more rolly then the low pin.  The Cell Pearl seems to be a mix between the Grand Illusion and the original Cell.  It has the hook potential of the Cell which to me seems to outhook everything on todays market but has the shape of the Grand Illusion, very clean through the front with a very strong continuous motion down the lane.   This is definitely going to be the most hooking ball in your bag.  I will probably use the Cell Pearls on Shark and Scorpion.  I think the Cell Pearl adds something to the line that they didn't have before, something very strong but clean through the fronts.  I see this ball being very popular on the PBA Tour, I'm sure Wes will have a few in his bag. Get used to seeing the Cell Pearl because it is soon to be the hottest ball on the market.
