Title: No Rules Exist
Post by: BallReviews-scodaddy21 on June 23, 2017, 10:40:18 AM
Throw the rules out the window! Get the Roto Grip No Rules Exist bowling ball and forget the rules out. Roto Grip has combined the best features of their best cores to create the Chaotic core. This core combines differential stability, consistent axis migration, and defined RG bands to produce a ball that is powerful. Then they kept going. Roto Grip has covered this core with the Reckless Reactive Solid coverstock which became famous on the Dare Devil Trick. This bowling ball is finished with a 2000-grit pad and is best used on medium to medium/heavy oil conditions. Go ahead and break the rules with the Roto Grip No Rules Pearl!

Color: Navy/Neon Yellow/Neon Orange
Core: Chaotic (14-16)
Coverstock: Reckless Reactive Solid
Finish: 2000-grit pad
RG: 2.51 (for 15# ball)
Differential: 0.053 (for 15# ball)

The No Rules Exist just makes a lot of sense.  Same core as the original and the pearl, but with the coverstock from the Dare Devil Trick.  What you get is the smooth control of the Trick with the heavier rolling and stronger revving of the asymmetric core which produces an ideal reaction for the heaviest of lane conditions.  Where the original No Rules could be a bit too clean and flippy, and the Trick can sometimes be TOO smooth, the Exist bridges that gap by maintaining the control of the Trick but being more aggressive on the backend.  The control and the consistency makes this ball a factor on any heavier volume condition regardless of difficulty.  Highly recommended.

The No Rules exist is very smooth and continuous and is going to be a staple in my tournament bag. This ball features the chaotic core famous in the No Rules line combined with the Dare Devil Trick surface (One of my favorite balls). I bowled on a fresh THS and I was instantly further left than normal (roughly board 30). You could see in the video the amount of swing I have with this ball. This ball compared to the original No Rules seems like it hooks more and is smoother overall. I am definitely a fan of this new release from Roto Grip. The worldwide release date is August 11th. Make sure you DRILL IT UP!

Orientation:  Right Handed
Rev Rate:  375 RPM
Speed:  16-17 MPH
PAP:  4 5/8 straight across

Location:  Enterprise Park Lanes, Springfield MO
Pattern:  High Volume THS
Layout:  40, 4 ¾   , 70

The No Rules Exist is the perfect complement to the Dare Devil Trick and the No Rules Pearl.   The No Rules Exist has the same cover as the Dare Devil Trick, so it’s weaker than the original No Rules.  The No Rules Exist has the same cover as the No Rules Pearl, but it stronger because the Exist is a solid cover and the Pearl is obviously a Pearl.  For me, the No Rules Exist is a touch cleaner in the fronts and is more on the back than the Dare Devil Trick, and the Exist is earlier than the Pearl and doesn’t back quite as much.

Short excerpt:
Roto Grip was trying to allow folks to get a little deeper with slightly more down lane motion and still take advantage of the heavy rolling nature of this core through the pins. I would say they succeeded with the No Rules Exist. The difference between the original No Rules and Exist is subtle but there. As mentioned earlier, folks’ desire for this ball will be based on their style and conditions faced. Additionally, I tested the No Rules Exist on the new 47′Scorpion and it absolutely showed it’s colors. While the Storm Sure Lock (Which Chris Schlemmer likens to the No Rules) was earlier rolling, still had some read but was more punchy downlane with excellent carry.

Ball weight:  15
Rev Rate:  400
Ball Speed:  17.3
Axis Tilt:  7
Axis Rotation:  45*
PAP:  3 3/4 horizontal, 7/8 up
Layout:  50 x 3 x 40

Liking both the No Rules and Daredevil Trick, combining the core of the No Rules and the cover of the Trick had to create amazing results.  I wasn't sure it would be stronger than the original No Rules, I just assumed the cover would add length after using the Trick.  I was incorrect.

The layout I used with a 3" pin to PAP was to counteract what I assumed would be built-in length.  This may have been a poor decision.  I have used the No Rules Exist for about 10 games thus far and it is so very strong.  On THS, this ball, for me, is way too early.  It reads the midlane so quickly, I leave a lot of flat 10 due to it burning up.  As I move deeper on the pattern, I've been able to get the ball to work for 1 or 1.5 games, but it totally destroys the pattern being that deep.

I have had a chance to use it on a tourney pattern, which was about 45' and fairly flat.  It rolled great!  I was able to use it in practice (10 minutes) and for about 1 game.  I was able to play about 12-6 and it was awesome until the 6th frame of the first game.  3 flat 10s in a row.  I was able to finish the game, but had to put it in the bag after game 1.

It's easy to say this ball is not quite what I was expecting, but I tried a layout that I don't normally use with a pin to PAP that I almost never use.  That said, I am not disappointed in the No Rules Exist.  I like what I'm seeing out of this ball.  I like that it able to break down a pattern fairly quickly, which can be quite useful on the heavier or flatter patterns.  This is a very strong asymmetrical core with a very strong cover.  If I decide to drill another one, I'll be using a larger initial angle and a smaller val angle with a 5-6" pin to PAP.  I believe that could get me through the fronts better than I am with my current layout.

I believe that the No Rules Exist is a great ball.  I just happened to miss the layout.  If you liked the No Rules, the No Rules Exist is a no-brainer, it's significantly stronger and easily one of the strongest asymmetrical balls I've ever rolled.

I drilled up my NO RULES EXIST to be my "big hitter" when I see a long pattern or higher volume on a medium pattern. Compared to the DAREDEVIL TRICK which shares the same cover, I seen a more noticeable move off the spot where the TRICK was slower. Of course this makes perfect sense since the weight block is more stronger in the EXIST. I threw this some also with my MARVEL PEARL & CODE RED with the RED having slight surface on it. The MARVEL PEARL shaped a couple of board less that the EXIST and TRICK and looked like the perfect step down ball. The CODE RED was just too shined to get up on the 50' pattern that I was throwing these all side by side on and looked like it would need more texture to get in the conversation. I would think if your looking for a big hitter in your bag and the TRICK was a little too slow of the spot for you, this should fit the bill perfectly.

The No Rules Exist gives bowlers the one thing that the original No Rules was missing. TEETH. I'm very happy with the decision to wrap the strong revving chaotic core with the Reckless Solid cover that was featured on the Dare Devil Trick. Where high volume patterns caused the original No Rules to push too far downlane, the No Rules Exist gives you midlane motion no matter what the volume.

I tested the Exist on a very high Volume house pattern. The house has a low friction lane surface and they use Ice Conditioner. Normally the fresh pattern forces everyone into the track and makes you shut down your angles. I was amazed at the ability of the exist to give me a consistant breakpoint in the oil, regardless of what angle I chose to play. The midlane read is so consistant that I could see my borderline misses not only get saved, but still hit the pins and snap out the corners.

I started by purposefully throwing a couple of shots inside the track, approximately 4 to 5 boards left of where I would normally start with a high end ball on that pattern. I was amazed to see the Exist grab and dig for the pocket. Curious how the ball would handle the blended pattern and recover when I really pushed it right I opened the angle up more and was pleased to see the ball grab and find the breakpoint again. The motion wouldn't look as foreign on a shot that was a little more cliffed, but seeing it happen on what was out there really gave me an appreciation for the strength of the cover/core combination on the Exist.

I decided to move right, getting into the track and seeing what this ball would do compared to what I was used to seeing on the fresh. I rolled the first one and saw it pick up very strong at about 30 feet. I took a little hand out and firmed up the speed, letting my hand up the back of the ball and the ball reacted beautifully. I didn't feel like I needed to help it at all and it saw the same breakpoint I had when I was inside and rolling it more. Both angles gave me plenty of hitting power.

The last move I tried was much deeper. Approximately 20 boards left. I'm always on the lookout for a go to ball for longer patterns so I wanted to see how the exist handled being deeper and bringing the breakpoint a little closer to the pocket. It didn't disappoint. The Reckless cover showed its teeth and and it revved up nicely, hittting the pocket square and clearing the deck. The versatile strength of the No Rules Exist makes me very excited to bring it out for some of the tournaments I'm planning to bowl this fall. It's nice to have a strong ball you can have faith in regardless of where you need it to be strong.

The NoRules Exist is the next offering in RotoGrips high performance, HP4 lineup. The Chaotic core returns, wrapped in the new Reckless solid reactive cover. I'll start by saying that, typically, solid covers and me don't get along that well. I have lower than average tilt, a bit too much forward roll and I like to throw it firm....I'm the pro-shop guy, not a superstar. The OG NoRules rolled way too early for my skill set, I needed a flood at my feet to get the ball to retain what little axis rotation I have. When I got the Exist, I knew I needed a bigger front angle and a longer pin to help my cause. 65x5x35 was the layout I went with and I use it for most of the Asymms I drill. I tossed it the first game of league, we bowl on a THS using Kegel Current conditioner, I was very impressed. The Exist has much better length and more motion down lane than the OG/NR. It carried very well and it drew some attention from other bowlers who couldn't believe that I was hooking it! haha....My center hosted a Have-A-Ball Summer league and this rock was a popular pick. We drilled a bunch the last few weeks and so far the first impressions are really positive. If you need a new beast in your bag to replace the old asymm big wheeler...this is the ball to drill. Go see your shop guy and grab it up! Great release from Roto, keep it #SquadRG and when you're on the lanes... #ownit

Roto Grip No Rules Exist Ball Review by PJ Haggerty

The No Rules Exist is the newest addition to the HP4 line from Roto Grip.  We’ve seen the original No Rules and the No Rules Pearl, and I’d say the No Rules Exist fits perfectly in between the first two.  The No Rules is still the strongest of the three, the Pearl is the cleanest and hooks the least amount over all, and then the Exist is right in the middle.  After drilling all three, I think players can use all of them on multiple conditions.

Out of the box, I changed the surface by hitting it with 3000 with some water.  I wanted to keep some of the teeth in the cover, but wanted to create a bit more length.  My drilling maps out as 5.5 x 4.75 x 70 with the mass bias just to the right of my thumb.  This creates length but also a forward, slower responsive motion down lane.

I’ve been able to use the Exist on multiple patterns, but they’ve had to have volume.  It’s definitely a strong piece with a very strong, forward motion down lane.  This ball makes sense to own if you need to replace a strong ball in your bag or if you’re looking for a ball for when there’s a good amount of volume on the lane.

Go drill one!

LANE CONDITION

Length:41'

Volume:HEAVY

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS

                                            NO RULES EXIST

Now this is what I'm talking about!! No Rules right Punch, No Rules Pearl left Punch and the No Rules Exist is the knock out Punch. I am a really big fan of the No Rules and the No Rules Pearl and now with the release of the No Rules Exist it's a three balls that can hit any condition from heavy oil to medium light oil patterns.
The center I first threw the Show Off at is generally one of the slicker centers in town at 41'. The track area in this center is second arrow with plenty of conditioner in the middle. For my game starting with the No Rules solid on the lane by myself I can play all day anywhere from twenty five to ten and never lose ball reaction. So I got some other bowlers and we beat up the pair, with most playing inside and a few  were left of me. So once the No Rules solid wasn't going through the pins like I needed and I know I could of switched to the No Rules Pearl, but I switched to the No Rules Exist. I moved back right and played pretty close to where I had started with the other No Rules solid. The No Rules Exist never missed a beat, it started striking from this angle and I could keep moving left with plenty of recovery from any angle that I can play with my game. This ball would be a great addition to anyone with the No Rules solid or the No Rules Pearl, it'll complement these other two. Awesome Job!!!!

LANE CONDITION

Length: Medium to Long

The No Rules Exist is the newest addition to the HP4 line from RotoGrip.  The No Rules Exist uses the Chaotic Core which was used by the No Rules.  The No Rules Exist utilizes the Reckless coverstock.  The combination of the Chaotic Core and the Reckless coverstock creates a very powerful bowling ball with an aggressive backend motion.  The No Rules Exist might use the same coverstock as the Trick but they are two different bowling balls.  The No Rules Exist is a good 5 to 6 boards stronger than the Trick on a typical house pattern.  The No Rules Exist and the No Rules are big hooking bowling balls but the difference is in aggressive backend motion of the No Rules Exist.  I am not a big rev guy (rev rate 300ish), my ball speed is roughly around 15 mph and I am right-handed.  My tendencies are to stay to the right and play straighter through the front part of the lane.  The layout that I used on the No Rules Exist was pin over fingers with the mass bias in the strong position with no hole.  The Trick and the No Rules were dilled similar but the reaction between all of them were different.  The No Rules Exist allowed me to move left with confidence because it is strong enough to make the turn.  The problem occurs when the fronts are torched…  This is where the No Rules Pearl or Code Red would be the bowling balls of choice.  The No Rules Exist is the bowling ball of choice when there is oil and / or on a longer pattern.  The No Rules Exist is the most versatile BIG bowling ball that I have thrown in a long time.

The No Rules Exist is the newest addition to the HP4 line from Roto Grip. It features the Chaotic core that is in the other No Rules balls, but the Exist has the Reckless cover that was also on the Dare Devil Trick. This ball was designed to fit between the original No Rules and the No Rules Pearl, and I think Roto Grip nailed it. The original No Rules was very early and almost too smooth done lane for me, so the Exist will be in play way more often. Because the Reckless cover slightly cleaner, it makes a much more defined shape on the backend.

Comparing the No Rules Exist(NRE) to the Dare Devil Trick(DDT), the NRE is faster to respond at the end of the pattern than the DDT. And I have the NRE about 3-5 boards stronger.

The NRE needs to volume or oil up front, but it a great piece if you need a heavy oil ball that shapes downlane.

Roto Grip No Rules Exist
45 x 4 x 45 w/h on VAL
44ft THS on Kegel Ice oil on older HPL surface – fresh and burned THS
Surface: 2000 grit
What I like: Using a layout I had on the Sinister and Hyper Cell I figured to get a similar reaction. Smooth roll and not an overreaction in the backend. Actually, it was weaker in the backend then I expected, which was good me because my Show Off is stronger than I thought it was going to be. The deflection on the pin deck was a little higher than I thought it would be, could be the new pins Colony Park just put in. Found the Exist with this layout great for truly super wet / super dry back end conditions. I love to play left of center and being able to just have straighter path to the pocket then the having to play the whole lane, and this ball and layout allow me to. Even though this ball is a “HP4”, it’s versatile enough to be a benchmark ball for about anyone.

The No Rules Exist features the same Chaotic core in all the other No Tules balls but has the solid coverstock from the DareDevil Trick. This ball hooked a ton for me and provides a clean, strong, and smooth backend reaction. This ball will be good for heavy patterns or when I need something strong but not too flippy. It worked well for THS but could become too much very fast. Heavier volumes and tournaments is where the Exist will really shine. This is a ball that anyone could use in their bag. #SquadRG

Length: 43

Volume: medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

Likes:  Love the length the ball gave out of the box.  Great hitting power and even worked well when I had to move deeper inside.

Dislikes:  No dislikes so far, this is one of my favorite balls right now.

The No Rules Exist fits right in with the Dare Devil Trick and the No Rules Pearl.

The Roto Grip No Rules Exist is a very strong, versatile high end asymmetric ball. My Exist's layout is 50 x 4.5 x 30 and I left it at box (2000). I have thrown this ball on a 43 foot typical house shot that tends to play a little wet/dry for me and a 49 foot modified house pattern which plays very tight. It blends out the 43 foot wet/dry pattern very well. I can either hook the lane from inside or stand further right and play more directly in the puddle. For me, it is the logical step above my Dare Devil Trick with a similar layout.

The 49 foot pattern plays super tight and requires most bowlers to keep their angles in front of them. For me, this pattern tends to make most of my balls roll like urethane with hook up front and fade in the back. Where some balls lose their energy and hit a little flatter, the Exist has a different look as it reads the midlane and charges into the pocket.

The No Rules Exist is the middle child of the No Rules HP4 line. It isn't as strong as the No Rules Solid nor is it as clean as the No Rules Pearl. For me the ball blends the best of both world. It is strong enough that you can use it on longer patterns but also smooth enough that even on shorter patterns the ball isn't shutout. Out of the box I had to adjust the cover to get the exact ball motion for what I was looking for but once I got it matched right the ball was absolutely amazing. Normally with asym balls they tend to burn up after a game or 2 but with the Exist I've been able to stay with it much longer. The easiest comparison for would be a stronger earlier version of the Daredevil Trick.
Title: Re: No Rules Exist

The Roto Grip No Rules Exist is a solid reactive cover, wrapped around the Chaotic asymmetrical core. The Exist can be found in the HP4 line of bowling balls. The cover is called Reckless and has a 2000 pad finish. This is the same cover that was on the Dare Devil Trick. The numbers on the Chaotic core are 2.51 Rg, 0.053 diff, and 0.018 intermediate diff, in 15lb bowling balls.
I drilled the No Rules Exist with a 3.5x5.5x2.5 layout. This layout puts the Exist right in between my current No Rules, and the No Rules Pearl. The Exist is earlier and more controlled off the spot than the Pearl, when keeping my hand behind the ball, but gets more angular and stronger off the spot when rotating my hand around the ball. The Exist is easier to get through the front of the lane than the original No Rules. I like the Exist on medium heavy to heavier volume league shots with clean backends, which is what I wanted this layout for.
The Exist will be a good ball for bowlers needing a little extra help from the cover and core to shape up, but not be too angular off the spot. The cover offers plenty of board coverage with controlled shape. Roto Grip has done a real good job with offering different shapes on the lane from coverstocks, while still getting familiarity by using the same core. Thank you for taking the time to read my review of the No Rules Exist.
