Oracle Vision
« on: March 28, 2006, 12:06:38 AM »
I've been looking for smooth particle ball (sort of what stop_deleting_me) is looking for to tame down wet/drys.  I tried an RSP and I love the way it rolls, but it's still a little too strong when it hits dry.  It's good when they are fresh but side-side wet drys it's not as good.  I'm sure a layout change would work but I was experimenting with 15lbs so I bought an Oracle but ended up trading for a 16lb Oracle Vision since it's pearl particle and I was told it was smoother than the RSP.

So, I went with a layout that in the past has produced pretty smooth rolling balls.  Pin 5.5" below the fingers, MB at 30* and extra hole on the axis.  Good lawd that ball is strong off the break.  First time I threw it after throwing the RSX it was real clean and then about 40 feet looked like mini-me kicked it.  The backends were a little cleaner than normal so I used the RSX the first 2 games till it started laboring and then moved 5 left and went to the Vision.  Standing 38 with my break about 7-8, the Vision gave me unlimited right.  It pushed real nicely and then made a strong, but controlled  hook off the spot.  I was really shocked at how much this ball hooked and wheeled.  Although the shot is easy, carry at this house is tough inside 3rd arrow because of the oil downlane but it wasn't with this ball.  I get very few messengers in this house because of the oil but I had 3 in one game.

I haven't seen anyone throw this ball and I'm not sure why.  It didn't give me the look I wanted, but ironically it filled a gap when the RSP, X and Saturn are just too smooth and I need more angle.  I was saving that for a possible Epic or Battle but I'm not sure if I can handle more than the Vision

Well, the next choice is an Oracle since it's solid with a higher load...

Yes, that was me throwing the GP2.  I had posted a few other videos too.

Do you carry RG stuff in your bag, i thought you were Track only. Is it just to get comparisions?

I'm no longer on Track's staff.  I've been intrigued by RG since last year when I saw Tommy Delutz and Brian LeClair obliterate the field at a regional with a RS1 and RSX (they also both threw the ball extremely well).  Both balls gave them a nice push, strong midlane and a gread read downlane. Once I was able to throw other balls, I started with an RSX and then picked up a few other pieces.

I'm willing to err on the side of too smooth because with my axis rotation (think PDW), I can get balls that burn for most to push and recover.  My problems are usually too much recovery.
