its been a long time since i offered up a review of anything truth of the matter is i haven't really had anything that was different or really made me want to throw it . PLus i had had so many bad reviews and got knocked for my opinion that i really got gun shy.
    Of all the balls i have owned my epic is probably my favorite until now. the odyssey is the ball you could probably build an arsenal with .just take 3 or 4 of em drill em for the condition and go bowl. I think this ball could be used for everything.
    I am a lower speed rev deficit player who is more comfortable swinging than playing straight up the boards. This ball is all but perfect for my game.
whatever the lanes dictate this ball can deliver. mine is drilled with the pin below the bridge and this placed the mb directly below the thumb hole. this ball is at least 7 boards stronger than the no mercy and its carry potential is head and shoulders above it. this ball will really open up the scope of any bowlers game imho. If you are on heavshots play it straight and let it back end to the pocket ,on lighter shots move left and watch it bank off the wall. this ball is trully phenomenal.Much better imho than the battle for versatility and carry percentage. Its ony better than the epic because of oil handling capabilities. For carry,versatility,recovery,forgivness and just about any other thing you want in a med to heavy oil ball this one has it all.

I have been looking around a while for some new equipment since i haven't gotten anything in about 6 months, I was going to stick with storm which i have trusted for a long time. My buddy Paul who owns Competitive Edge Pro Shop in the Brunswick Zone in Woodridge suggested that i try some Roto Grip equipment. Since storm makes their covers i was still a little reluctant to try a brand new company. The last roto i owned was an original silver streak. I wasn't too fond of it but i thought i would give them another shot. I drilled up two balls, Odyssey and Mystic.
 The Odyssey is one ball that flat out hooks. I have it drilled 4.5"x60deg withe the pin even with my ring finger. I ususally don't like drillings like this due to my super high track. My PAP is 6x0 with virtually no tilt. I'm an up the boards bowler. With this ball, I am able to open the lane up like i never was able to before as long as there is some oil of course. Have only thrown one game with it on a second shift shot. But I can tell by the motion of the ball that this ball is one hell of a beast.

This ball is an amped up version of the Epic, which I love as my first ball out of the bag. The Ultimate Vision  cover gives this ball more muscle than the Epic, which makes it complimentary if you're using more than one Roto. The Epic could be a little late breaking on the heavy stuff and this is where the Odyssey picks up the slack. Same fast revving core with stronger tires. Reads the midlane well and continues on its mission after it turns the corner. Blasts the pins, as does the Epic. This cores just flat out crunches pins. The only down side is - use it on what it's made for -moderate to heavy oil. There are some oils that the 'Vision' coverstock just does not like and you'll know 'em when you see 'em. 4.75 x 4.5 drill pattern

Bowl on an afternoon league after High School kids have messed up the shot.  Synthetics with a lot of carry down.  Buffed my Odyssey with 800 Abralon wet.  No polish.  194-257-259 first time I tried it on this condition.  Use a 14# ball.

Had to give this ball a review after bowling 300 with it tonight. I shot 199, 246 and 300 for 745. I did not switch to the Odyssey until 8th frame of 1st game. I originally had this ball drilled with pin over ring and mb next to thumb and ball was very over under so I had it plugged and redrilled . The layout I decided on was roughly 3 x 3 1/2 with pin next to ring and MB on VAL. I keep the ball at 4000 abralon and for me this gives a great read playing up the boards. As long as I get it to the pocket it has great carry....

i dont know why ,i guess its just a matter of matching up but i truly believe this is the best ball on the market. I have 2 now one polished and one at 500.One drilled pin under bridgewith mb 1 inch right of thumb and the 500 is drilled with pin 4 x1 or so with mb kicked out . these balls hook and carry on the right shot like they have eyes. the odyssey clears the front part of the lane nicely and just when u think its gone it says peek aboo and clears the deck. My 500 grit is stronger than my battle . It has awesome backend and continuation through the pin deck. I never thoughtt i would say this ,but i found a ball that was too strong for the shot i was trying to play in oil.None of my other equipment would move like this. In fact today i threw it and none of anyone elses equipment moved like it either until the lanes broke down. When everyone else settled in to the shot i had to changes balls . If you are looking for something versatile,that responds to any change you want to make to it, something that carries,recovers and reads the condition,if you are someone with low revs and speed and you want a ball that does what it is advertised to do and then some ,give this ball a chance. If you buy an odyssey and it doesnt improve your game i would really be shocked.

I shot 869 with this ball.  Weak 7, 28 in a row, 6 pin, off the sheet.  Really, what more do you need to know?

This is the first ball out of my bag on almost any condition because it reads the lane so purely.  It does not overreact on wet/dry.

Drilled pin above and to right of ring finger and MB 70 deg. OOB surface.
I bought this ball because I liked the Epic Quest.
This ball can change direction so drastically for a solid reactive ball depending on how you throw it. This thing likes oil and can handle plenty of it. I play a light swing shot and watch this ball rev late mid-lane then break hard. Great angle.
Sometimes leaves stone 10 pins, however.

This ball highly compliments my horizon pearl, I use the Odyssey and Horizon for just about anything.

This is the best ball i have every used. I have 4 of these balls. I love them all. I've shot a few 299 games and 1 300 with this ball. If i'm having any trouble i always rely on this ball. Moves real smooth through the heads and eats up the back end.
