The first night with the ball I bowled league on a house shot with 36 feet of oil and very dry back ends.  If you got the ball right too early in the dry it would hook back plenty to the pocket but would lose a little energy and leave weak corners.  Then I moved in further and kept it in the oil longer and the ball reacted incredible.  No more weak corners and shot 300.  A few days later I bowled at another center with much oilier back ends and the ball opened the whole lane up.  It had plenty of power at the pocket.  I bowled four games in league and only didn't strike six times.  I had more area with this ball than any other ball I've used at this center.  It would come back from as far right as I could throw it and still carry very well.  This ball is incredible in oil and quite well on lanes where there's oil in the middle and dry outsides and back ends (house shot) as long as you use as much oil as possible (start the ball way inside).  I have every Roto Grip ball and this one opens the lane up better than any.

YES!!!!!  A Particle ball that does not over-read the front part of the lane and has some energy in the back!!!!!

2nd shift travel league: Fronts not overly wet but not blown open.  Carry down evident.  Top Fuel not quite enough.  Pulled out SS Particle.  Ball reaction came back like gangbusters.  Excellent recovery.  Hitting power is phenomenal.

43'Sport pattern First time seeing the pattern.  Ball gave very consistent read from first game to last. Did not have to switch balls when lanes transitioned. Won all of my matches and never had to worry about the ball reaction.  This ball added to my confidence.

This ball also seems to take the edge off of severe wet/dry lanes. Takes both the over and the under out of the lane. Still hit when it gets there.  I will be drilling up more of this one.

I love this ball.  I punched up 2 of these.  The first ball I have a 5" pin and a 4"CG location from my PAL.  The ball rolls great on heavy oil.  It does hook a lot on the back ends if there is not enough oil down the lane.  Therefore, I've used this ball when the backends carry down.  This is another great addition to the Silver Streak line of bowling balls.  The second ball, I used a 4" pin with a 2"CG location from my PAL.  This ball works great when the heads are oiled heavy and there is some friction on the back ends.  For me its a great transition from one ball to the other.  I've been using the 4 X 2 early and when I get the carry down I go to the 5 X 4 layout.  Did I mention I love this ball.

I haven't thrown any of the new Roto equipment, but my ball driller was impressed and wanted me to try the Particle Silver Streak.  Since he was also the first one to recommend the Inferno to me, I listened.  The first thing I noticed is that the box condition finish is a higher sheen than you normally get on aggressive particle balls.  I layed this one out with a leverage pin and a label shift then put an axis hole in it to take the side weight back down.  The result was an early rolling look much like some of the better Brunswick Particle balls. A little bit of an angular move at the break point, but great continuation through the back end.  This ball definitely conserves energy better than most of the aggressive particle equipment out there right now.  Excellent strong particle ball for the money.  Much better for me than the WOW.

Been throwing various solid and pearl Silver Streaks for most of the past winter season and now into the summer. Really like the basic roll pattern, movement and hitting power of these balls. The SS Particle is another winner in the series and it complements the other Streaks quite nicely. It is notably stronger than the solids and less flippy for me than the pearl.

My impressions of the SS Particle mirror those of RotoMike's. The ball is clean through the front and mid lane and makes a strong arcing movement at the breakpoint. Most importantly, while it's strong, it does not bleed off energy too rapidly so it still hits. Carry for me has been excellent - particularly when playing angles where I would tend to leave a number of tens with weaker equipment.

I've had only a few particle shell balls that let me open up the lane. This new Streak does that nicely and is a welcome addition to the arsenal.

15 lb.   Pin above the ring finger with the CG kicked out.    Left it with the box finish.

I haven’t been able to throw it much, because of lack of oil in GR, but I had a chance to throw it in a summer sport league.  42 feet, with flyin’ backends.  Fantastic reaction.  There was no over-under reaction from the dry to the oil.  This is a great heavy oil ball.  I may try polishing it so I can use it in league.  I would recommend this ball for anyone who bowls on heavy oil, or someone with a little less hand.  This ball surpasses other more expensive particle balls from other companies, but for a much better price.  Better ball for cheaper price, how can you go wrong.

Medium Speed Tweener. 16lbs. Pin - PAP 3" MB in the strong position with the extra hole past the VAL
I bought this ball to be my heavy oil ball, but have found this ball to be very versatile.  SS-Particle revs up early and gives a nice strong predictable arc to the pocket. I've been using this ball exclusively for the last couple of months in 3 different leagues at 2 different houses.  Both houses are AnvilPro Synthetics.
League 1: 2nd Shift, Dry Lanes.  In this league I've had trouble controlling even my mildest equipment, because the track is so burnt.  But you know how we are when we get a new toy :-).  I shot the ball over 25 with a break point at ~13 and this baby just rolled right through the pocket.  Revved up early but maintained it's path to the breakpoint. Carried very well. Didn't have to move my feet all night.
League 2: 1st Shift 42ft. Heavy Oil. This was the condition I bought this ball for and it really shined.  15 at the arrows out to 10 at the breakpoint.  Smash! All night long. Again didn't need to move my feet the whole set. Just for Sh**ts and giggles for my fill ball in the 10th I threw my Boost, for comparison.  It slid right into the 3-6 pocket.
League 3: 1st shift medium oil 36ft. In warm ups I was covering alot of boards and the ball didn't have much energy left at the pocket. So, I went with a suitcase release straight up seven.  In the pocket all night.  Again once I found the spot I didn't have to move.
The SS-Particle will give you great power with even better control of your breakpoint. Very responsive to different releases.
What can I say? I love this ball.  I've been disappointed with my last couple of Storms. So, I think I'm going to stick with lil sister for now.
Lil sister is definitely a 10.

drilled my ssp with the pin 1 inch over the bridge
cg kicked out 1/4 inch no xtra hole.3oz top 3.5 pin
this ball rolls up in the mid lane with a smooth
transition to the back end.it doesn't flare much
so it has an arching motion.it does not jump left when
it hits dry.hooks thru carry down and is a great ball
for med.to heavy oil.this would be too much ball for the
ABC'S but just in case one of the side tournys has a little
extra oil i'll be lugging it along.

I picked this ball up on eBay for less than $50.00 with shipping.  I decided to have this ball drilled a little different than most of my equipment.  Specs are as follows' 15.4 lbs, top weight 3.18 oz, PIN 3-3.5.   My pro shop guru, Tim Pallai (Strike Zone Pro Shop - Landmark Lanes, Peoria Il) placed the PIN over the fingers.  I left is the surface the way it was right out of the box.  I've got to tell you , I'm usually a loyal Brunswick fan.  This is my first Roto-Grip ball and I'm completely sold.  I practiced with it for about 12 games prior to placing it in my league arsenal.  The first night of the fall league I shot 300, 249, 279 - 828 series (my first one ; been close several times before).  The second night of the league I did not bowl due to our rotation.  However, I came back the third night and shot 255, 242, and another 300!!!  The ball does not overreact when the front of the lanes are a little dry.  The pins seem to "dance" across the deck when the ball hits the pocket.  THIS BALL HITS A TON!  For a ball that I paid less than $100.00 total including drilling, I would recommend this ball to anyone who wants a mid-priced ball that is versatile for med to oily lanes.  I'm buying another one to keep on hand just in case.... better snatch these up while they're still available.

Poor Jayleno...you should go back to your regular time slot, since it's obvious you are not a bowler!

15Lb-er   6-7 inch pin
Pin 1 inch over and to the right of ring finger.
small X-hole on pap

I got this ball used, and highly polished. In that conditon, the ball didn't do diddly! Took it to my spinner and tried to get it to 800 grit. Don't know if I succeeded, but now this ball is a monster!

As Roto-Mike said, this ball is excellent for over/under wet/dry situations. It blends those conditions easily and gives you tremendous amount of control over the breakpoint. A must have ball, for spotty, high-friction, low-friction conditions, that are not predictable.

This is a very powerful ball that retains a lot of energy on the backend. Every time I rev it up, it hits like a speeding locomotive!

I am sure this ball was intentioned for med-hvy and hvy oil, but I have now found a welcome place for it, in my bag, due to the control that it gives you on a wide variety of conditions. It is not your usual hook-in-the-box type of ball, so if that's what ur looking for, forget about it!

Excellent piece by Roto. Only for serious bowlers!
