Roto Grip created the TNT Infused bowling ball with a focus on achieving both length and forgiveness. Sam Cooper Roto Grip Amateur Staff. I am a little late to the party on the TNT Infused but better late than never! The TNT Infused features the Torpex core which has a lower RG higher differential. This ball has the E-Trax Plus Hybrid which is a two-part pearl and one part solid. The original TNT was designed to really control the lane, the Infused is the exact opposite of that. I drilled this ball shortly after I drilled a 900 Global Sublime, they are similar strength to each other but there is a difference. Ball progression for me in the middle of my bag would be TNT Infused, Sublime, then a Zen Gold Label.

The TNT Infused will have a strong mid-lane roll to it with an earlier response to friction over the Sublime. The Infused, however, when it responds to the friction it almost looks like waits a moment before it turns it can be a little forward at times if there is not enough oil. Whereas the Sublime seems to get down lane a little bit more and have a rounder more continuous motion to it. I found that when the Sublime is not carrying or getting behind the head pin a little bit the TNT Infused will hook slightly earlier to help you get through the pins better. On the other side of that when the TNT is hooking too early and not going through the pins you can go to the Sublime. Like I said these balls are in a similar strength window but there is a reaction difference. My only regret is that I did not drill this ball sooner. It has been a great addition to the bag.

The Original TNT was very slow off the end of the pattern for me so when the TNT Infused was released I was hoping this ball would be quicker off the dry so I can use it when the lanes transition during league. I didn’t like the out of box surface with the reacta gloss because it made the ball skid too far and be confused off the end of the pattern. After scratching it by hand with a 2000 abralon pad the ball began to blend the wet dry better and give me a more predictable motion.

With also having the Journey the TNT Infused compliments it well. I can play to the right in league with the Journey and when that ball begins to read the house shot too early I can switch to the Infused and not have to make a large move left.

The PBA 50 begins soon so I will be able to test this ball on patterns. The TNT Infused rolls great in the second shift league I bowl in since the lanes are constantly transitioning during league and different from week to week.

The new Roto Grip ball in the HP 3 Line is the TNT Infused. I was real big fan of the original TNT.  The TNT Infused uses the same core with the E-Trax Hybird coverstock.
2 parts pearl 1 part solid.  I drilled the Infused the same as original, 4 1/4 x 4 x 2.
I used the Infused on house pattern and a couple sport patterns.  To be honest for me the Infused rolled okay for me, but not as good as the original.  It seemed like Infused was too strong to play up the lane, and not enough to move in and hook it a little on house shots.  On sport it rolled a little better for me.  I have drilled a few in my shop and customers like the ball real well as it backend for them a lot! I really think the infused for me is a conditional ball.  But for others it is a great ball for them. As sometimes certain ball just dont match up for the bowler.  But if you are stroker or tweener looking for a ball that can help you down lane while playing down and in, the Infused is your ball.

The Roto Grip TNT Infused has the same Torpex core as the original TNT, but the coverstock is the ETrax Plus Hybrid.  At 15 pounds the RG is a very low 2.47 with a .052 differential.  I drilled mine at 5x4x2 which puts the pin above my middle finger.  The new Infused is a much cleaner version than the original TNT.  The Infused gets into an early roll just like the original due to the low RG core, however this coverstock finished with Reacta Gloss is very clean through the heads.  The other major difference between the Infused and the original TNT is the backend shape.  The Infused has a quicker response to friction and is much more angular on the backend.  The TNT was much more forward on the backend of the lane and required a good amount of oil for the ball to keep its energy through the pins.  The TNT Infused does not have that problem, it has a good midlane roll and a very continuous motion through the pins.  This is a much more versatile ball which will work for many styles of bowlers on the medium patterns.

I am a higher speed, rev challenged 220-250ish, high tilt, high rotation, and super low track player. I drilled the Roto Grip TNT Infused 5.5 x 3x 1.75 using Storm VLS and my axis point is 3 ¼ right and 7/8 up. The Roto Grip TNT Infused is a symmetric Hybrid reactive piece that I really like medium volume patterns. The low RG and big diff gives this ball high flare potential when I need something to give me length and forgiveness. Overall, this ball is a beast and explosive through the pins.

One of the latest additions to the HP3 line at Roto Grip is the TNT Infused.  If you remember the original TNT, it was a symmetrical ball with a big core and solid coverstock.  I considered the TNT as a great benchmark ball to determine what the lanes were providing us.  Our experts at Storm went one step further and created the TNT Infused which still uses the same core (Torpex), but wrapped it with a 2 part pearl, 1 part solid, hybrid coverstock. 

I had the opportunity to drill one and really like the way it rolls.  The layout is mapped as 5.5 x 4.5 x 60.  This puts the pin above my bridge with a decent shift of the CG.  I’ve had the most success after my Magic Gem or Eternity PI start to see the front of the lane too much.  The TNT Infused gets through the front of the lane easier, stores a nice amount of energy, and continue through the pins extremely well.  It’s also been a ball I’ve been able to use when I need to open up my angles.  It has no problem going left-to-right and I believe it’s a great addition to the already stacked line at Roto Grip.

If you need a ball that compliments the asymmetrical balls or even something to compliment your benchmark balls, I’d go drill a TNT Infused and I think you’ll be impressed!
