Once again Roto Grip® delivers exceptional performance that far exceeds the price with the introduction of the Venustm.

We bring you a light loaded particle pearl coverstock (Sure Grip IItm pearl particle) for enhanced traction on those lane conditions that have more volume in the front of the lane but the overall pattern is shorter.

The Orbitertm core with its oversized body and flip block provides far superior ball motion than all the competition combined. The synergy of coverstock and core is definitely another WINNER from Roto Grip®.

Another Great Entry Performance ball from Roto Grip.  Have mine drilled up with pin just up and right of ring finger with cg kicked just right of stacked.  I have been using this ball as a one/two combo with my RSX on a 3:1 44ft sport pattern and loving it.  I usually have a couple balls to play different parts of the lane but the Venus has allowed for me to play anywhere on this sport condition. I can stand 25 and push thru 15 at the arrows or I can move right and play up 5.  The hitting power from either angle is pretty amazing.

Hats off to Roto Grip for giving us Roto bowlers another great ball at this price point.  I can't wait to see what the Neptune brings, already have one on my have to get list.

This is probably my favorite ball in our entire line! I have a few of them drilled in a few different fashions and they all roll fantastic. They can be really strong or really weak depending on how you choose to lay them out, but either way they hit like a ton of bricks. Must have for any arsenal.

Roto Grip Planet Venus: Entry Performance

The Roto Grip Venus is the latest performance entry in the "value added" Planet Series. It joins the Planets: Mercury Reactive Pearl (rumored soon to be replaced by - Neptune; with the inverted Orbiter II block; in February), and Saturn Solid. All the current line of balls offer the same weight block (Orbiter) and basic coverstock (Sure Grip II). The series are fairly high RG (Radius of Gyration) balls, and offer a fairly aggressive coverstock with a low-medium flare potential. This line, for entry level, are some serious bowling balls.

I traded my NIB Saturn model (which was a replacement for a cracked ball - that I bowled with for about half of a year; which Roto Grip gladly replaced), for the Venus model. The Saturn proved to be too much ball, I was looking for ball that would go a tad bit longer than the Saturn, yet be a ball that was a versatile ball, that could be used on house shots - The Planet Venus was that kind of ball. In mythology they say that Venus is the "goddess of love and beauty", I've been beguiled by the love and she's a looker to boot!

I think the hardest thing in bowling these days is to try and find a ball that is equitable to the current scoring conditions without having too aggressive of ball in one's hand. The bowler can easily find very dynamic hook monsters, but those with any hand at all, need some kind of control without having to hurl the ball too hard. Yet, as always, one needs to be in touch with the benefits of reaction; aka carry.

As always, I will state my peeving Caveat Emptor, YMMV warning, when doing the reviews. There are different styles, speed, ball rotation, axis tilt, etc. What works for one might not for the next. With that being said, I would consider the Planet Venus a very Versatile ball, and could speculate would fit most styles and variables that bowlers are seeing these days on THS and medium dry tournament conditions.

This ball has a strong coverstock, and can easily be adjusted for oil, medium, with simple surface adjustments; with a little more effort could work on dry. It has stunning looks, and the backing of one heck of a Company, Roto Grip; my favorite Bowling Ball manufacturer. Roto Grip, simply gives you the most for your money, period. (excerpt of review)

This ball is a 14lbs
Drilled using Roto Grip Sheet C-b
This is supposed to give medium length with an angular backend
This also is labeled as an entry level ball, it is anything but an entry level, with this drilling it put the pin above ring finger and CG slightly to right. This is a very good strong ball very smooth reads lane great with a super back end and great carry, I can't believe the noise it makes with those pins when it hits pocket.
Generally speaking it takes me a while to get used to a new ball , not with this one , its just a pleasure to throw this ball. If you haven't tried Roto Grip give it a try you'll love it , and thanks for reading and good bowling to you. Oh yes this is also a great looking ball .

This is an entry performance ball from RG and I can tell you they make the best stuff. This ball stores up energy and has as much back end as my higher priced stuff. RG is the best!

Weight: 15 lbs
Pin to CG: 1"
Surface: High Gloss polish

Drilled Conventional grip, 4" pin to PAP, pin under ring finger with cg towards grip center.

Bowling mostly on medium oil lanes that have seen league play. I can play this ball up the 7 or 8 board and it snaps harder and later than my saturn, with equally good carry.
On anything more than medium oil this ball has a tendency to skid to much or hit really weak. Length isn't an issue on dry lanes. If it's too dry and my saturn wont finish hard, this ball will.

The Venus is considered to be a low line ball in Roto Grip's arsenol and is also one of cheapest bowling balls around.  So when I got it drilled I wasn't expecting to much from it except to maybe be a go-to ball on tough lane conditions.  I was very wrong.  After league was over one night I pulled it out to throw a few games with it just to see what it could do, here are those very first games with the Venus: 211, 269, 233, 225, 216, 237, 215, 259.  Not too bad for being the first time I've ever thrown the ball.  The ball reaction that I get with the Venus makes me think it is a high-end ball and the carry is unbelieveable.  After throwing it that night I had one of the league bowlers come up to me and ask me to have our pro shop operator order him one.  I wasn't expecting too much with the Venus, but what I got was another solid optionin my bag that can help me tremendously on the lanes.

Not a big surprise that roto-grip has a entry ball that flat out preforms. This is a great piece for any bowler. I have had a few of this one pin over the bridge, on stacked and one ricoed. I shoot 5 300's this year with the ricoed one. Great bang for the buck. To bad this ones going away. Get one why you can its that good at one point this was the only ball I used.

I have had my Venus for 3 months now and the longer I have it the more I appreciate this ball.  For the money this ball is an excellent value.  When the oil breaks down or the pattern is on the light side of medium in league this ball comes out and the Grand Illusion goes in.  Ball is drilled with with B drilling from Roto Grip Chart.

What I wanted when I bought this ball was a ball to fit beneath my Grand Illusion and I have definitely been happy with this purchase.  Shot 224-223-255, 702 with this ball on a 34' lighter pattern.  Ball has a very smooth predictable reaction with this drilling.  Would recommend this ball to anyone looking for a good ball on light to light medium conditions.

I Have two Venuses.

One Drilled pin up 1" above my middle finger, with cg under my ring finger. This one works good when the lanes are a little drier, or on a end pair in the house I bowl at.

My second one is drilled pin 1" under my ring finger, cg kicked out a little bit. This one lets me play the lanes a little straighter right around second arrow on a ths
